JOY

JOY John 16:16-24  Devotional:- “Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.” (V. 20) NKJV God’s word says when sorrow endures till a night, joy comes in the morning (Psalms 30:5). This is an assurance and evidence that what is called sorrow is not a permanent situation in the life of a child of God. This is because it is certain that when a night comes, morning is always the next. The night is evidence of the coming morning. This is evidence that what you are going through right now will soon result in joy. In fact, the tougher it is, the closer the joy. May you see it. The scripture we read today gave us a new dimension of hope in our lives. Jesus said, our sorrow shall turn to joy. That which we think is a thing of sorrow shall suddenly become a thing of joy. Jesus likens it to a woman who is in labour. Women in this state often feel as if the end has come. But ...

AUTHORITY IN THE KINGDOM

AUTHORITY IN THE KINGDOM

Matthew 8:5-13
Devotional Verse:- “For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it." (Vs. 9)

As a citizen of the kingdom of God, you must get used to the use of authority. Jesus did not teach us to fight physically but He gave us the authority to fight with. This is because we are not fighting against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers (Eph. 6:10-12). This means that we are not just facing physical human beings alone but people moved by evil spirits. This is the reason we must be equipped with the authority of the kingdom of God. So, understand the way of the Spirit.

Authority is always delegated from a person of a higher power to another person to command and enforce the subject or the opponent to obey. It is the power or might which gives orders, issues instructions and enforces obedience.

Please, understand that your ability to control or dominate the enemy is through the power of God that is delegated to you (Luke10:19). That is why you must take this seriously because it is your only strength for victory in Christ (1 John 5:4). Therefore, just like the man in our Scripture for today, get used to the authority of the word of God given to you. Locate the Scripture of your authority over any situation and meditate on it to receive faith (1 John5:4). The word of god is the constitution that gives you a constitutional right. Always take your authority from the word of God (Ephesians 6:17). Use it in every situation, and the forces of God will always be at work in your life. Peace!

PRAYER: Lord, reveal my authority to me in your word
