FORGIVING YOURSELF

FORGIVING YOURSELF Luke 22:54-62  Devotional:- “So Peter went out and wept bitterly.bitterly.” (V.62) NKJV Before a man can begin to enjoy the expressive love of God in his life, he must learn the act of self-forgiveness. Self-condemnation is always a terrible permission for the devil to take over in the life of a believer. This can make him lose his self-worth in God’s presence. It can make a believer lose his authority in Christ. It can make a believer lose his joy and build an environment of sorrow. And you need to know that the environment of sorrow removes from you the presence of God. He only dwells where there is fullness of joy (Psalms 16:11). Unforgiveness can make a man build an atmosphere of fear and then permit the presence of demons. This also breeds discouragement and frustration and makes the life of its victim miserable. The wonderful thing in the scripture we read today is that, though Peter denied Christ publicly and committed a grievous sin, he did not let...

FORGIVING

FORGIVING

Matt. 6:9-15
Devotional Verse:- "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you” (Vs. 14)

One of the beautiful natures of the Kingdom of God is to always forgive people. This attitude is given to us by the Spirit of God in us. Jesus demonstrated it on the cross of Calvary. He prayed that God should forgive those crucifying Him (Luke 23:34). As a citizen of the kingdom of God, you should not only pray to forgive but you should also be ready to forgive even before offenses come.
To forgive is to give people love instead of anger. Naturally, when people offend us, our emotions become negative, intending that we reward the offender with vengeance. But because of the Holy Spirit in us, we are capable of showing love, for God is love. (1 John 4:7-8, Gal. 5:22) Don’t forget that if you sow anger, you will reap bitterness, but if you sow mercy and love, you will reap love (Gal. 6:7).

When you forgive someone you ought to be bitter against, you release God to that person because God is love. By doing that, the Holy Spirit will not give the person rest (Proverbs 25:21-22). This is the lifestyle of the people in God’s Kingdom. An unforgiving attitude brings a man into the cage of bitterness and closes his heaven (Matt. 6:15).  Don’t join them!

PRAYER: Lord, deliver me from unforgiving spirit

“WHEN YOU FORGIVE, YOU LEAVE VENGEANCE TO GOD"
