A REWARDER

Image
A REWARDER   Hebrews 11:4-7. Devotional:- "For he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder, of those who diligently seek Him” (V.6)      Everyone involved in any kind of labor expects a reward. What motivates people into service or pursuit of life is the reward attached to it. It is embarrassing to see that most people labor for no reward, or rather their rewards don't often measure up to their service or input. This is the reason for frustration in the lives of many in the world today.

BURN THE BRIDGE

Image
BURN THE BRIDGE                  Matthew 19:16-26 Devotional Verse: -“Jesus said to him, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."”  (Vs. 21)      In the nature of the kingdom of God, everyone who want to be part must be total with God. Human beings are always looking for the way to play safe in life. So, many are always playing smartness with God. Each one who will have the full package in God must burn the bridge behind them.

KINGDOM FRUITS

Image
KINGDOM FRUITS             Luke 6:43-45 Devotional Verse:- “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks”  (Vs. 45)      In the kingdom of God, our understanding should be on the fact that our hearts produce the fruits we bear in life. So many people find all manner of limitation in their lives. The usual thing is that,  man always wants to look for someone or something to put the  blame on. The most blamed person is the devil and this has been the story from the beginning (Genesis 3:12-13). The truth is that, excuses do not change anything.

OVERCOMING NEGATIVE THINKING

Image
OVERCOMING NEGATIVE THINKING             Proverbs 23:1-8 Devotional Verse:- "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. "Eat and drink!" he says to you, But his heart is not with you”  (Vs. 7)      One of the habits many people battle with in life is the habit of negative thinking. This is an area where the devil has made many slaves. Though they don't like it, they just must make do with it. The moment they are alone, they engage in thoughts that give them a defeated mentality. Thinking actually exercises the mind. That is why it is normal for your mind to think because this is how it (the mind) is exercised.  Whether your thoughts are negative or positive is what you have to work on.

LIVING ABOVE CONFUSION

Image
LIVING ABOVE CONFUSION               James 3:13-18 Devotional Verse:-“For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there”  (Vs.16)      The kingdom of God is not a kingdom of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33). One of the greatest troubles in the life of people today is confusion. The goal of confusion is to cripple the mind of a man, prevent him from achieving the will of God for his life and establish hypertension in him.

LIVING ABOVE FEAR

Image
LIVING ABOVE FEAR                     Matthew 8:23-27 Devotional Verse:- “But He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm”  (Vs. 26)      It will be completely impossible to live in the kingdom of God with the spirit of fear (Hebrews 11:6). Fear will only make the power of God at work around you to be withdrawn. The kingdom of God and the spirit of fear cannot work together (II Timothy 1:7). Today a lot of people in church are living with the spirit of fear. That is why we need to learn how to live above fear.

THE PLACE TO RECHARGE

Image
THE PLACE TO RECHARGE                  Psalm 84:1-7 Devotional Verse:-“They go from strength to strength; Each one appears before God in Zion”  (Vs. 7)      The house of the Lord or the place of fellowship with the children of God is the place of strength. This is because it is in such places that the word of God is being spoken. The word of God says that where the word of a King is, there is power (Ecclesiastes 8:4).

RENEWING YOUR STRENGTH

Image
RENEWING YOUR STRENGTH             Isaiah 40:27-31 Devotional Verse: -“But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint”  (Vs. 31)      As a child of God, please understand that your strength for all you may want to do is in God (Job 32:8, John 15:5). Sometimes, you discover that you are getting weak and discouraged. In most cases, the weakness of life often starts from one's spiritual weakness. You may discover that you can no longer pray as you used to. You may also find out that, as you read your Bible and other books, the contents just seem like they are written in Greek language that you cannot understand. At such times, you need to renew your strength.

THE STRENGTH OF LIFE

Image
THE STRENGTH OF LIFE            Genesis 2:1-7 Devotional Verse:- “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being” (Vs. 7)      God made man in the beginning in His own image and likeness. Since God is a Spirit, it should be clear enough for you to know that man is also a spirit being (John 4:24). If man is therefore going to gain strength, then he must trace his way back to God who is his source.

LIVING A JOYFUL LIFE

Image
LIVING A JOYFUL LIFE     John 15:9-17 Devotional Verse:- "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full” (Vs. 11)      It's amazing to know that Jesus choose us to love us (John 15:16). He selected us when we were not even aware. He sacrificed Himself on the cross and brought us unto Himself by redeeming us with His blood (Revelation 5:9). What a great love!

THE RICH MAN AND LAZARUS

Image
THE RICH MAN AND LAZARUS Luke1619-31 DevotionalVerse:- 'Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame'."  (Vs. 24)    It is important we understand that there is a demarcation between the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of this world which is of the devil. The Blessing of the Kingdom of God comes from God when one obeys Him (Deut. 28:1). But the blessings of the worldly kingdom come with deceiving and cheating one another.

LUKEWARMNESS

Image
LUKEWARMNESS                Revelation 3:14-17 Devotional Verse:- “So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth” (Vs. 16)      The nature of the kingdom of God does not give room for lukewarmness. Some people always love to sit on the fence.  They do not want to be close to God or the church, so that they can easily bend with the world whenever they want to. The truth which man needs to know is that, there is no middle way kingdom. A man is either in the kingdom of the devil or that of God.

THE UNJUST STEWARD

Image
THE UNJUST STEWARD               Luke 16:1-9 Devotional Verse:- “And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home.”  (Vs. 9)      The parable in our Scripture for today teaches us so many lessons. It teaches us that we are stewards. A steward is a manager in charge of a business or an assignment. This teaches us that whatever we have comes from the Lord (Psalm 24:1, John 3:27). For this reason, we must use them consciously in the service of the master.

THE RICH FOOL

Image
THE RICH FOOL              Luke 12:13-21 Devotional Verse: - "And He said to them, "Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses” (Vs.15)      It is amazing to hear that people can be rich and foolish at the same time. It looks contradictory. This is because in our thinking, we expect every rich person to be wise. We often assume that it takes wisdom to be rich. This assumption is quite true but we have not taken time to separate Godly wisdom from worldly wisdom (James 3:13-18).

FOLLOWING CHRIST

Image
FOLLOWING CHRIST                   Luke 14:25-33 Devotional Verse:- "If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple” (Vs. 26)      God has enthroned Jesus as King of kings and the Lord of lords (Revelation 17:14). Jesus earned this office by becoming the sacrificial Lamb of God for the salvation and redemption of man (Phil. 2:7-11). Therefore, every citizen of the kingdom of God must be followers and disciples of Jesus.

AUTHORITY IN THE KINGDOM

Image
AUTHORITY IN THE KINGDOM                Matthew 8:5-13 Devotional Verse:- “For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it." (Vs. 9)      As a citizen of the kingdom of God, you must get used to the use of authority. Jesus did not teach us to fight physically but He gave us the authority to fight with. This is because we are not fighting against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers (Eph. 6:10-12). This means that we are not just facing physical human beings alone but people moved by evil spirits. This is the reason we must be equipped with the authority of the kingdom of God. So, understand the way of the Spirit.

LOVING AND GIVING

Image
LOVING AND GIVING                John 3:13-21 Devotional Verse:- “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (Vs.16)      Every child of God is saved from the Kingdom of the devil to the Kingdom of God (Col. 1:13). Understanding this puts you at an advantage over the devices of the devil.  Very many people in church today are not aware of this truth. This is the truth that sets you free (John 8:32). This is also the reason you need to give yourself to studying the word of God so as to understand the nature of the kingdom of God.

LOVE YOUR ENEMY

Image
LOVE YOUR ENEMY                  Matthew 5:43-48 Devotional Verse:-"But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute yo”  (Vs. 44)      It is important that you realize the great difference between the Kingdom of the devil and that of God. We are born into this world, but through salvation that was given to us by Christ Jesus, we have been transmitted from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of light which is the kingdom of God (Col. 1:13).         The greatest attitude of the kingdom was taught by Jesus in our Scripture for today: “We should love our enemies”. Jesus says, there is no difference between us as believers and unbelievers if we only love our friends and those who love us. If you only give to those who will give back to you, then you are not entitled to any reward from God.        How do we then love our enemies? We can do this is by being ready to forgive whoev

FORGIVING

Image
FORGIVING       Matt. 6:9-15 Devotional Verse:- "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you” (Vs. 14)      One of the beautiful natures of the Kingdom of God is to always forgive people. This attitude is given to us by the Spirit of God in us. Jesus demonstrated it on the cross of Calvary. He prayed that God should forgive those crucifying Him (Luke 23:34). As a citizen of the kingdom of God, you should not only pray to forgive but you should also be ready to forgive even before offenses come.

WISE AND HARMLESS

Image
WISE AND HARMLESS              Matthew 10:16-26 Devotional Verse:-"Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves” (Vs. 16)            It is important you understand that the kingdom of God has an enemy. This enemy is the devil. Truly, since God’s kingdom is the kingdom of light, the kingdom of darkness will always be a contending force. Just as we are standing in for the kingdom of God, the devil has cunningly possessed some people and made them his delegates.

THE FAITHFUL SERVANT

Image
THE FAITHFUL SERVANT                Luke 16:10-13 Devotional Verse:- “He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much” (Vs. 10)      A major practice of the citizens of the Kingdom of God is faithfulness. This is because our God is faithful (I Thessalonians 5:24). To be faithful means, to carry out the master’s assignment as we are instructed by Him or by our leaders. An average man wants to argue about every given instruction. Only a faithful servant obeys notwithstanding.

THE FIG TREE

Image
THE FIG TREE                      Luke 13:6-9 Devotional Verse:- “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none.”  (Vs. 6)      Every citizen of the kingdom of God is expected to bear fruits unto God. This is because God, by His Spirit has invested so much in us. He has invested in us the gifts of the Spirit in different varieties. He has invested in us the passion for specific assignments in His house and in our businesses. He has also invested special abilities and unique personalities in us. He has invested in us all manner of experiences. He has planned and fashioned us for His glory (Isaiah 43:21).

DO BUSINESS TILL I COME

Image
DO BUSINESS TILL I COME                 Luke 19:11-27 Devotional Verse:-“So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, 'Do business till I come.'”  (Vs. 13)      To a citizen of the kingdom of God, doing business is not a suggestion but a commandment. Any child of God who is not doing business is therefore disobeying God. It is a sin that can send him to hell. What is the business God wants us to do? It is trading with what He has given us to bring profit into His kingdom for our promotion.

RELIGIOUS PRIDE

Image
RELIGIOUS PRIDE                   Luke 18:9-14 Devotional Verse:- “I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."  (Vs. 14)      In the kingdom of God, there is no room for pride (James 4:6). This is because there is nothing we have that is not given to us by the Lord (John 3:27). Everything in God comes to us by grace (Ephesians 2:8). Pride is not an attitude of any mature believer. The Bible says that God resists the proud and gives more grace to the humble (James 4:6). Which means proud people will disconnect themselves from God.

ALL IS POSSIBLE

Image
ALL IS POSSIBLE                    Luke 18:24-30 Devotional Verse:-“But He said, "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God." (Vs. 27)      In the mind of man, there is room for impossibilities, but it is not so with God. Impossibilities are only in the views of men. The reason is that, there are so many factors of life which are not practically visible. This is not so with God. In the kingdom of God, nothing is impossible.

WICKED STEWARDS

Image
WICKED STEWARDS             Luke 20:9-19 Devotional Verse:-“He will come and destroy those vinedressers and give the vineyard to others." And when they heard it they said, "Certainly not!”  (Vs.16)      The greatest evil anyone can do to him/herself is to reject the gospel of Jesus. There will be no hope in eternity for anyone who rejects so great a salvation that Jesus came to sacrifice His life for (Hebrews 2:3).

SOCIAL BRIDGE

Image
SOCIAL BRIDGE              Luke 19:1-10 Devotional Verse:- “And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, "Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house” (Vs. 5)      In the Kingdom of men, there is always this mentality of social gap. This gap is always there because some people feel the moment they attain a particular status they can no longer relate with people of low status. This gap is a product of the fear of being attacked unduly by the people at the the lower cadre. The low level people also feel intimidated by the wealth of the so called rich people.

SIGNS AND WONDERS

Image
SIGNS AND WONDERS               Isaiah 8:11-18 Devotional Verse:Here am I and the children whom the LORD has given me! We are for signs and wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, Who dwells in Mount Zion” (Vs.18)      As the end of the age is drawing closer, we must understand what our portions are in God. According to the word of God, people outside the Kingdom will face so many troubles and calamities (Rev. 12:12) Jesus said that, it is a time of sorrow (Mark 13:8) but the word of God already decrees our exemption (Psalms 91:7-10, Rev. 7:2-4).

UNIT VALUE

Image
UNIT VALUE                   Luke 15:8-10 Devotional Verse:-"Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it?” (Vs. 8)        Sometimes, when you hear about the population of the world, you wonder how God could listen and attend to everyone. The government of God is not like the Kingdom of men. Inadequacies in the nature of men can make it possible for anyone to be overlooked but it is not so with God.

THE LOST SHEEP

Image
THE LOST SHEEP                  Luke 15:1-7 Devotional Verse: -“I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance”  (Vs. 7)      What a great joy and excitement you derive when you find what is of great value to you! It is normal to feel great when what was wrongly taken from you is restored to you. So it is with God. Man is the most valuable creature He has, yet we don’t recognize this value. Something in us always wants to be far from home and we distance ourselves from God. Gap is always preferred in a relationship which you don't value.

YOU ARE THE BRANCHES

Image
YOU ARE THE BRANCHES                 John 15:1-8 Devotional Verse:- "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing" (Vs. 5)      As citizens of the kingdom of God, we are so special in the hand of our God that we are given special roles to play. The role of glory that Christ has given us is not common in the generations of men. We are given this special place because Christ loves us and made Himself a sacrifice for our redemption (Revelation 5:9).

THE REVEALED LIGHT

Image
THE REVEALED LIGHT                  Matt. 5:13-16 Devotional Verse:  "Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house”  (Vs. 15)      Light is a product of a generated energy. That is why it is not cheap to put on a light. For example, it will cost you buying a candle to have a candle light. That is why you will not put it on in hiding to just burn away. There is a purpose you intend it to serve and that is to illuminate the environment where you are in the time of darkness. It also costs God to giving us the Holy Spirit and teaching us His word for us to be called the light of the world.
