A REWARDER

Image
A REWARDER   Hebrews 11:4-7. Devotional:- "For he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder, of those who diligently seek Him” (V.6)      Everyone involved in any kind of labor expects a reward. What motivates people into service or pursuit of life is the reward attached to it. It is embarrassing to see that most people labor for no reward, or rather their rewards don't often measure up to their service or input. This is the reason for frustration in the lives of many in the world today.

PRIVILEGED VERSUS OBLIGATION

PRIVILEGED VERSUS OBLIGATION               Psalms 100:1-5 Devotional Verse-“Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing” (V. 2)

STEWARDS

Image
STEWARDS         1 Corinthians 4:1-7 Devotional Verse: -“Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God” (V. 1)     Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Stewards    To be effective in our service to God, we must grow to know that we are stewards. The word steward is used in the word of God to describe Christians. A steward is the one entrusted with his master’s good. That is why the Bible says, we shall give account on the judgment day (2 Corinthians 5:10). The word of God says, all that we have are given and entrusted to us by God (John 3:27).      The word of God says, we are to be considered as servants and stewards of Christ. That is why each of us should be conscious and careful of how we use what God has entrusted into our care. Your body, your gifts and talents, your family, your spouse, your children, your energy, your resources and wealth, all belongs to the Lord (1 Corinthians 4:7). That is why you must settle the issue of money, if you will be a true

INTEREST OF OTHERS

Image
INTEREST OF OTHERS            Philippians 2:1-4 Devotional Verse: -“Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others” (V. 4) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Interest Of Others    As servants of God, it is important we cultivate the attitude of thinking of others first. It is normal for every man to want to think of himself more. This is what we call the good human life. But true servants put the interest of others at heart. Remember, God consider our motive and intention than our action (Matthew 12:8-9).

FAITHFULNESS

Image
FAITHFULNESS        Matthew 24:45-51 Devotional Verse: -"Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season” (V.45) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Faithfulness    As steward of Christ, it is required that we are faithful in all our services (1 Corinthians 4:1-2). In rendering a service to God, faithfulness to God is not replaceable. Unfaithfulness is considered an act of wickedness in the word of God. That is why each of us must understand what it is to be faithful. To be faithful is to remain firm in your belief in someone. It is to have unwavering commitment to your assignment with a person or an organization.

MEETING NEEDS

Image
MEETING NEEDS                 Galatians 6:1-10 Devotional Verse: -“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith” (V. 10) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Meeting Needs    The essence of service is to meet needs. Ministry is meeting a particular need. The reason most nations or industry are not effective is because people are employed to serve without meeting a particular need. Meeting needs has to do with helping others out of their troubles. Any business that is not meeting needs and helping others out of problem may actually be an act of wickedness (Matthew 25:26).

AVAILABILITY

Image
AVAILABILITY              2 Timothy 2:3-13 Devotional Verse -“No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier” (V. 4) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Availability    In our service to God either in our kingdom service or in the office, effectiveness demands our availability. It is important you know that availability preceded ability. No matter how able a man is, if he is not available, someone else will have to do the job. So, making yourself available is so vital to your effectiveness in the service of God.

PUT IN YOUR BEST

Image
PUT IN YOUR BEST                Ecclesiastes 9:5-12 Devotional Verse:-“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going” (V. 10) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Put In Your Best    Service does not become profitable to man until he put in his best. Because of the humble nature of service in most time, one is not encouraged. That is why many easily give up in service. But everyone who had the best through service ignored the ridicule and put in their best.

UNTO THE LORD

Image
U NTO THE LORD          Co lossians 3:18-25 Devotional Verse: -“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men” (V. 23) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Unto The Lord    Service is of the Lord and can only be rewarded by the Lord. The term service in our world connotes weakness and defeat. But servi ce in God’s term is the route to greatness. That is why service cannot be done in a worldly way. We need to do it in the kingdom pattern and have this mindset.

HUMILITY TO SERVE

Image
HU MILITY TO SERVE            1 P eter 5:5-11 Dev otional Verse: -“Therefore humble yourselves under t he mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time” (V. 6) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Humility To Serve    Service demands humility. As glorious as service is to the destiny of man, it can only be done when we are humble. God, in his wisdom has put the solution of each person's problem into the hand of others. Yet, when you are bringing solution to people, you still need to be humble before they will accept your services. Yes, people need your services to help them out, but you must be humble before they can allow you into their lives (Genesis 40:5-8).

ACCEPT YOUR ASSIGNMENT

Image
ACCEPT YOUR ASSIGNMENT           Ro ma ns 9:14-24 Devotional Verse:-“But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him wh o formed it, "Why have you made me like this?"” (V. 20) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Accept Your Assignment    In the plan of God for making you, He has the best in mind for you (Jerem iah 29:11). The form by which He made you may not be the one like that of your friend, but it is the best for you. Most people compare their life with others and the Bible says, this is not wisdom (2 Corinthians 10:12). This is the reason why many will never fulfill their destiny.      The word of God says the potter have the right to determine the shape of the clay. It is the potter that knows the reason he wants to make the clay into what shape. It is therefore wisdom that a man should ac cept the mode God has made him into and be happy with it. Many struggle with life today and fails because they don't like the way God made them. No one

YOUR PASSION

Image
YOUR PASSION     Proverbs 27:17-27 Devotional:- “As in water face reflects face, So a man's heart reveals the man” (V. 19) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Your Passion   God made each of us with passion to drive us into achievement of our desire. Passion is the energy wired into us by the creator. The energy of our passion is inexhaustible i.e. It cannot finish. If you are woken up in the middle of the night to do what you are passionate about, you will not struggle with it. The energy for such exercises is loaded in you abundantly.

EXPERIENCE

Image
EXPERIENCE        2 Corinthians 1:1-11 Devotional Verse:- “For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ” (V. 5) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Experience    Part of the instruments of service to God in our lives is our experiences of life. It is not just for fun that God allows you to go through all you have gone through. He is making you to go through all you are going through because He wants to use you to help others out of their troubles. You really cannot help people out of what you have not gone through before.

PERSONALITY

Image
PERSONALITY      Matthew 16:13-20 Devotional Verse:- “Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."” (V. 16) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Personality    When you observe people, you will discover that people look unique in the way they behave. This is because God made all the people on earth to be uniquely different. A research said, only 10 out of 2.4 billion can look closely like you. This simply means you are uniquely made. Your personality is just so uniquely different. Understanding this will make you identify the areas you can best serve.

GIFTS AND TALENTS

Image
GIFTS AND TALENTS         Matthew 25:14-30 Devotional Verse: -“And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey” (V. 15) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Gifts And Talents    Everyone made by the Lord is packaged with talents. It is not easy to find someone with one talent. Most people are multi-talented. Talents and gifts are what God has built in us to become our focus of passion. The talents are inborn with us and the gifts came with the Holy Spirit that God gave to us as believers (Acts 2:38).

DISCOVER YOUR VISION

Image
DISCOVER YOUR VISION        Proverbs 29:15-21 Devotional Verse:- “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he” (V. 18) KJV Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Discovering Your Vision    Vision is insight into the future of our lives. Vision is the approach through which our services should be channeled. Vision is the revelation of the very assignment God wants each of us to embark upon for His glory. Vision is what each one is to do to serve the Lord. Vision is what God made you to do on earth. Please note that this is not limited to the church. It cut across every human endeavor - our businesses and all that we do on earth. Service will only be good and profitable when it is done in the vision of God for our lives.

THE BEST

Image
THE BEST         Daniel 1:8-20 Devotional:- “And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm” (V. 20) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · The Best    When someone has decided to serve the Lord, not flesh or sin, God will bestow on him the excelling grace. This is because, God made us to be the best in the areas of our calling. We are already custom made for greatness. All that God is seeking from us, is to be willing to serve Him.

HEALTH

Image
HEALTH         Exodus 23:20-30 Devotional Verse:-"So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you” (V. 25) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Health    No matter what a servant of God may have to go through, the Lord will deliver him out of it all (Psalms 37:39-40). In this world, there are many challenges that confront men. A major one is the challenge of sickness. Sickness is an affliction on the body of people but God is a healer (Exodus 15:26).

A BLESSING

Image
A BLESSING            Genesis 12:1-9 Devotional Verse: -“I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing” (V. 2) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · A Blessing     God made every person to be a blessing on the earth. To be a blessing on earth is to be used by God to strengthen, build and help others out of trouble. It is to encourage others and be a solution to their problems. When people get involved in serving the Lord, they become a blessing to their generation (Isaiah 60:15)

FULFILLMENT

Image
FULFILLMENT          2 Timothy 4:1-8 Devotional Verse:-“For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand” (V. 6) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Fulfillment          Service is allowing God to use you to fulfill His plan on earth. The truth is that if man is not allowing God to use him, the enemy will keep using him (Deuteronomy 28:46-47). People need to yield to God for God to use them, but nobody really need to yield to the devil, he goes about seeking whom he may devour (John 10:10). God made man to serve His purpose and establish His will on earth. All that God need to package in man to fulfill this calling is in man. Your fulfillment is only in serving the Lord.

GREATNESS

Image
GREATNESS             Mark 10:35-45 Devotional Verse:-“Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant” (V. 43) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Greatness    God who is our maker is a great God and all His works are great. He cannot make anyone that is not capable of been great. The ability of greatness is in everyone. No one can blame God for his/her life not been great. All that God need to do in making us great has been done.

PREPARING FOR GREATNESS

Image
PREPARING FOR GREATNESS            Genesis 40:4-15 Devotional Verse:-“And the captain of the guard charged Joseph with them, and he served them; so they were in custody for a while” (V. 4) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Preparing For Greatness    Service will prepare you for greatness. Service is a ladder to be used to climb to greatness. Service gives a man the opportunity to meet and fellowship with great people. This will start to reveal to you the way and wisdom of the great. This will begin to connect you to great people, and opportunity for greatness will present themselves to you.

PROMOTION

Image
PROMOTION      Genesis 39:1-6 Devotional Verse:-“So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority” (V. 4) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Promotion     No one enjoys a stagnant life. No one wants a life that is not moving forward. God designs your life to be progressive (Proverbs 4:18). That is why you must work in the wisdom of God for your promotion. There is God factor concerning your life and there are factors you have to take steps about. It is in using what God has giving to you that you become better and you can grow up better (Hebrews 5:14).

ANNOUNCEMENT

Image
ANNOUNCEMENT         1 Samuel 18:1-9 Devotional Verse:-“So the women sang as they danced, and said: "Saul has slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands." (V. 7) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Announcement     Every destiny on earth needs announcement. In other words, people need to know you for something. It is what people know you for that they will be willing to pay you for. That is why; it is so important that you serve God with your gifts and talents so that the world might discover you. God placed in your life something that the world needs, but if you are not announced to your world, you may not be discovered.

SELF DISCOVERY

Image
SELF DISCOVERY        John 1:19-28 Devotional Verse:-“He said: “I am 'The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Make straight the way of the Lord," ‘as the prophet Isaiah said." (V. 23) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Self Discovery     One of the beauties of serving the Lord is that, it will make you discover who you are and who you are made to be or what you are made to do. When people don't know who they are, they run about in life trying to be like another person. Those who live like others may never be the original of themselves but a photocopy of another.

PURPOSE OF SERVICE

Image
PURPOSE OF SERVICE        Acts 13:26-41 Devotional Verse:-"For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, was buried with his fathers, and saw corruption” (V. 36) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Purpose Of Service    God, who made man, made him to serve Him to fulfilling His plan. God made and packaged man to be able to influence him to carry out His agenda on earth. Man is made to serve God to fulfill the plan of God and to fulfill his destiny and his part in the divine agenda.

SERVING HIS PURPOSE

Image
SERVING HIS PURPOSE        Mark 1:32-39 Devotional Verse:-“But He said to them, "Let us go into the next towns that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth."(V. 38) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Serving His Purpose     It is important we understand the motive and the focus for which God expect our services to be. God has a purpose He wants to fulfill on earth through our services. So many think they are serving God today, but outside the will of God. They keep committedly serving God in a wrong way. That is why we need to understand the purpose or the motive through which God is expecting us to serve Him. It is only in this purpose we can establish the will of God on earth.

CHOOSE TO SERVE GOD

Image
CHOOSE TO SERVE GOD          Joshua 24:14-24 Devotional Verse:-“And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." (V. 15) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Choose To Serve GOD     At creation, God made man a free moral agent. So, man is a creature of choice. Man is fashioned to process spiritual thing and be able to carry it out in the physical world by the use of our soul. So, by the soul of man, we can easily be used by either the spirit of God or the spirit of the devil to carry out their agenda on earth.

WHAT IS SERVICE?

Image
WHAT IS SERVICE?           Deuteronomy 10:12-22 Devotional Verse:-"And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul” (V. 12) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · What Is Service     Service is the act of been a blessing or a help to others. This is possible by the influence of a right spirit. The purpose of the creation of man is that God might use man to fulfill His plan on earth. Service is therefore an act of been used by a force to achieve a goal.  You are in the service of whatever force that influences you. Making oneself available to be used by the Lord to affect others is serving the Lord. Serving the Lord is making yourself available to be used by God to establish His will on earth (Luke 11:2).

SAVED TO SERVE GOD

Image
SAVED TO SERVE GOD       2 Timothy 1:8-18 Devotional Verse:-“who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began”(V. 9) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Saved To Serve God     The falling of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden made man to become servants of sin. A greater percentage of the population of man today is not serving the Lord. Man actually prefers the service of sin because it looks rewarding and brings satisfaction to the flesh. It seems to satisfy immediate desire of man, though with much destructive results and experiences (John 10:10). It is because of the falling of man into sin that makes man slaves to the devil (Romans 6:16). For this reason, God sent Jesus Christ to redeem man from the slavery of the devil (1 John 3:8).

MADE FOR SERVICE

Image
MADE FOR SERVICE         Genesis 1:26-31 Devotional Verse: -“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."”(V. 26) Oluremi AGBABIAKA · Made For Service     The purpose of the creation of man is that man may serve God. At creation, God made known His intention for the creation of man. This intention is that man may serve Him (Genesis 1:26). God has put all things in man to be able of serve Him. This is because the vision of God at creation was to form a physical world. That is why He needs a creature with physical body to be His vessel of service on earth.
