THE PAST

THE PAST Isaiah 43:8-21 Devotional:- “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old.” (v.18) NKJV God, who gives us a memory, want us to use our past experiences to help us make quality decisions in the future, but the past is always the enemy of the future for many. If you don’t know how to manage your memory system of the past, it is capable of standing against your success in the future. As emotional beings, we are sometimes faced with the challenges of memories of our past experiences, our errors and failures. You will observe that at every point of decision-making to progress, the enemy will bring back to your memory the past experiences of your failure. This is just to bring fear to your heart and make you doubt the possibility of your success, so you could lose your joy. The scripture we read today instructs us to let go of the past. God is starting a brand-new thing with you. He is giving you new experiences of success and breakthrough. You need to lea...

NEW CREATION

NEW CREATION

2 Corinthians 5:14-21
Devotional:- “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (V. 17) NKJV

When a man gives his life to Christ, he becomes a brand-new creature. Man needs to understand that he is not flesh, but a spirit that has a soul and dwells in flesh (body). At creation, God breathed His spirit into the clay, and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7). So, death is referred to as a penalty of sin in Genesis 2:17. It is also known as separation from God. So, the Spirit of God departed when man sinned. But since man cannot be a vacuum, the spirit of the devil will always take over, and that is why man doesn’t drop dead immediately he turns to sin.

It is the spirit in a man that determines his lifestyle. The Spirit of God will always move man to think in a godly way. It is the evil spirit that makes people behave devilishly. Since the ungodly spirit has reigned over the human heart, wickedness has been increased on the earth (Genesis 6:5). But as soon as anyone accepts Jesus as Lord and Saviour, such has chosen God’s life. And the spirit of the enemy has to depart. From that moment on, the Spirit of God begins to operate in him to challenge and control the mind that is now willing to submit to God (John 3:3-6). At this time, he is a brand-new man. The old spirit has departed from him. What forces him to sin is no more there (Romans 6:14). Now the old things have passed away in his life. That is why Christianity is not a religion or joining a church or changing the style of dressing and carrying the bible about but connecting to the divine nature of Christ in us. You can stop living a mere human life when you are submitting to the Holy Spirit in you.

Friend, as a child of God, you are a brand-new person to live a new life. You only need to start to grow in Christ by the word of God (John 15:3). This will purge your mind of the old mentality, and your mind shall be filled with the truth (Colossians 3:16). And your mind will be set free from all the bondages of life (John 8:32). By the virtue of your new birth, from the day you confess Jesus as your Lord, all of God’s force comes back to you in full force. You take off afresh with a new dawn beginning altogether. You have to come to a new status because the Spirit of Christ is now in you. You have His nature, His spirit, and His life. When you start to live by faith, you will start to walk in His righteousness, and victory.

PRAYER: HOLY SPIRIT TAKE ME DEEPER TO THE LIGHT OF MY NEW NATURE.

“IF YOUR NEWNESS WITHIN BEGINS TO GAIN STRENGTH IT WILL SOON SHOW WITHOUT.”
