Some are stronger than others in language intonation. We may have parents who speak harshly. Some may have a boss or leader who speaks harshly. Your husband or wife may have harsh intonation. Here is the wisdom that help us to manage harsh words, it is soft responses. Some of us used to think two wrongs can make a right. This is not possible. So you are not to keep replying to harsh words with harsh words, but with soft words. An attempt to correct harsh words with harsh replies will make you look uncultured. A CHOSEN PEOPLE

Deuteronomy 7:4-11
Devotional:- “…the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth…” (V.6)

The basic challenge we are facing that does not make us understand our new position in Christ is that of misunderstanding how we become a child of God. Because we do not understand what it takes, many don’t even value it. So they easily throw it off their mind. Many today are not holding on to their faith and are easily discouraged simply because they lack understanding of the richness of their choice. Some also put up some pride and some show up because they think they were qualified.

The scripture we have just read said we were not qualified but were chosen. It was not because we were wise or more righteous neither was it because we were so bad or too bad. There was nothing that qualified us but the sovereign choice of God. He did choose us out of our nation and family to be a people and a priest unto Himself (Isaiah 62:12). So, you need to that you are a special candidate of God. You are highly privileged. There is a need for us to appreciate this Opportunity and be willing to walk in this truth all the days of our lives.

God chose you so that you can be a chosen representative to Him in your family, office, school, and all over the nation. You must not disappoint Him in the way you relate with people as a child of God. You must always remember you are chosen to represent Him in every situation. Let everything about you point towards Christ. Let them not hate the Lord because of you. Stand firm in the understanding that God chooses you to be a special person among others. And His special grace will be upon you.

Prayer: Lord, help me to be special among others.

“IF YOU ARE THE SAME WITH EVERYONE THEN YOU ARE NOT SPECIAL”
