WAITING ON THE LORD

WAITING ON THE LORD 2 Samuel 5:1-10 Devotional:- “David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years” (v.4) NKJV One of the good virtues of God we must always appreciate is His faithfulness. God is not a man that will lie; whatever He has said in His word, He is able to do and He shall do. You can always plug yourself into His promises as much as you work in His covenants. I always tell people never to think God’s word is written only to some specific persons we hear or read about in the Bible. The word of God is the standard practice and programme of God. They were only privileged to be the ones to receive the word at their time, but God is still the same, and so is His word. In claiming the word of God, you must learn to be able to patiently wait. People who will retain their joy must add this virtue to their life (Hebrews 6:12). Our scripture today told us of the installation of David as king, but that was a promise he received from God when he was about 1...

A CHOSEN PEOPLE

A CHOSEN PEOPLE

Deuteronomy 7:4-11
Devotional:- “…the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth…” (V.6)

The basic challenge we are facing that does not make us understand our new position in Christ is that of misunderstanding how we become a child of God. Because we do not understand what it takes, many don’t even value it. So they easily throw it off their mind. Many today are not holding on to their faith and are easily discouraged simply because they lack understanding of the richness of their choice. Some also put up some pride and some show up because they think they were qualified.

The scripture we have just read said we were not qualified but were chosen. It was not because we were wise or more righteous neither was it because we were so bad or too bad. There was nothing that qualified us but the sovereign choice of God. He did choose us out of our nation and family to be a people and a priest unto Himself (Isaiah 62:12). So, you need to that you are a special candidate of God. You are highly privileged. There is a need for us to appreciate this Opportunity and be willing to walk in this truth all the days of our lives.

God chose you so that you can be a chosen representative to Him in your family, office, school, and all over the nation. You must not disappoint Him in the way you relate with people as a child of God. You must always remember you are chosen to represent Him in every situation. Let everything about you point towards Christ. Let them not hate the Lord because of you. Stand firm in the understanding that God chooses you to be a special person among others. And His special grace will be upon you.

Prayer: Lord, help me to be special among others.
