HOW SERVANTS THINK

HOW SERVANTS THINK Numbers 14:11-25 Devotional:- “But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it” (V. 24).   To be a servant requires complete mental shift and change in attitude. Before God, attitude count more than achievement (2 Chronicles 25:2). So, when we look at how real servants think, they think more about others than themselves. Humility is not thinking less of ourselves but thinking of ourselves less (Philippians 2:4). Jesus takes the form of a servant (Philippians 2:7). We can measure our servant’s heart by how we respond when others treat us as servants. Real servants think like a steward and not owner. They keep in mind that God owns it all.  To become a real servant you’ve got to settle the issue of money in your life (Luke 16:13). Please understand that money has a great potential to replace God in our heart. When Jesus is your master...

LOVE THE LORD

LOVE THE LORD

Matthew 22:34-40
Jesus said to him, ‘you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ (V. 37)

A true believer loves the Lord. So many people come to church for many purposes, some for miracles, some for food, what to get, some to get a spouse, some in need of a job, some came to follow friend and many others. Only few people are in the church who loves the Lord. The reason people change church is because they can no more get what they are looking for.

To know whether you love God or not, ask why am I in this church? The moment there is a reason, then you do not love the Lord. The same with marriages. Yes some things might attract you but they are not enough to retain you. Those who love God follow Him because they love Him, because they love His presence, His word and His people. Love means you are willing to die for Him (John 3:16, Revelation 12:11). To love God mean He is your primary reason and all other things are secondary, so when they don’t come you don’t quit (John 21:17).

Friend, until you start to love the Lord, you are not yet a true believer. Love does not change hot or cold. True love are proved by situations. Take your decision to love God from now and all things shall be working for your good (Romans 8:28). Peace.

Prayer: Lord, plant your love in my heart.

“If you love God you will be willing to obey him at all cost”.
