SHARING YOUR FEELING

SHARING YOUR FEELING Hebrews 4:11-16 Devotional:- “For we do not have an high priest who cannot sympathize with our weakness… (V. 15)” It is not always very easy for people to understand us, especially when we pass through challenges and are weak. Even those who want to understand and sympathise could get to a level and turn back. Sometimes, instead of people sympathising with us, they constitute a panel of judges and begin to point accusing fingers at us.  As part of the act of love of Jesus, the scripture we read today says, He sympathises with us in our situation. In other words, He knows exactly what you are going through, both the one you can explain and the one you cannot. He could feel exactly the way you feel. The Bible says, He has suffered as we do. Even if you are struggling with a weakness or a sin, He has also been in the flesh. He knows how painful your feelings are. He cannot reject you, and He identifies with you and still loves you. HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM

HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM

Acts 2:1-13
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (V. 4)

To be a true believer you must not just receive the Holy Spirit at convention, you must be baptised with the Holy Spirit. To be baptised with the Holy Spirit is to be filled with Him. It is to be full of Him so much that there will be no room for another spirit in you anymore. It is to be taken over by the Holy Spirit.

Before someone is filled with the Holy Spirit, he/she is first filled with the Spirit of the flesh, which is the spirit of the world ruled by the devil (2 Corinthians 4:4). It can also be called the spirit of self. So for someone to be filled with the Holy Spirit, you must first be humble to sincerely denounce the spirit of self or flesh. It is by this we are ready and open enough for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. When you are really baptised with the Holy Spirit, it is then you really begin to enjoy God (Romans 8:9).

Friend, the hindrance to the baptism of the Holy Spirit is people’s inability to let go self and flesh. You must be humble enough to put this aside an open up to the Holy Spirit, then he will start to teach you and lead you (John 14:26). If you are not always led by the Holy Spirit then you are a baby in the spirit (Romans 8:14). This not a safe level for a child of God (Galatians 4:1). You need to be a growing Christian to be a mature believer. Peace!

Prayer, Lord, give me the humble spirit to open up to the Holy Spirit

“Only those who are baptized of the Holy Spirit are the temple of God”
