Instructions are commandments and directions from someone who knows better. And that is why God must be our instructor, though He could use His word and His holy people to speak to us.   We have to come to the awareness that we don’t know all things. What we don’t know could be used by the enemy to delay and destroy (Hosea 4:6). The fact that things are working the way you think they should does n...

RIGHTEOUSNESS

RIGHTEOUSNESS

Scripture Reading: 2 Timothy2:11-19
Devotional:- Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity." (V. 19) NKJV

The word of God says “God does not listen to the prayers of sinners” So also the praises of sinners (Psalm 66:18). If our praises will be acceptable before God, then we must first deal with the issues of sin. God and sin are not friendly. That is why the praises of sinners will not produce anything in God. No matter how sweet or melodious the songs are, it does not matter to God if our heart is not for Him.

This therefore demand that you purge yourself before the Lord (2 Timothy 2:21). Be humble to acknowledge your wrong doings before Him. Don't pretend (Proverbs 28:13). Genuinely repent before the Lord and ask Him for the grace to overcome sin (1 John 1:7-9). He will have mercy on you and forgive you (Isaiah 55:7).

This accept of His righteousness is by faith in the work of the Cross. (Philippians3:9). This an imputed righteousness that is a gift for a repented sinner. (Romans 4:6-8). To keep this righteous garment, we have to keep obeying the Lord (Psalm 119:9), Then your praises will be acceptable to God. Grace.

PRAYER: Lord, let there be mercy for my soul before you
