MY REFUGE

MY REFUGE Psalms 46:1-7 Devotional:- "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (V. 1) It is always very easy for men to say God is not good to them when they have a pressing need. But if you observe it carefully, wisdom will let you always appreciate Him. It is not every one that began this year that is still alive now. Many were faced with challenges greater than themselves and were swallowed up. If you listen to the reasons for their falls, they are not too great. The truth is that you also have passed through challenges greater than theirs, but God was your refuge. Anytime you run to Him, you will find a hiding place in Him. Even when it looks like the situation wants to swallow you, you still find strength for help in God. Do you know that you have been enjoying His refuge not because you are better but because He loves you? No matter what happens, do not be afraid, your lover is your refuge. FORCES OF CHANGE

FORCES OF CHANGE

Scripture Reading: Act 16:23-34
Devotional:- Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were loosed. (V. 26) NKJV

In the course of our journey on earth, we are bound to face challenges (John 16:33). This is because for every action there will always be a reaction. But Jesus instructs us that we should not allow the reactions to intimidate us. We should rather rejoice all through (James 1:2). In praises, we will employ the forces of God for our change.

Paul and Silas were greatly resisted in Macedonia. They were terribly persecuted. They were beaten with strives and they were put into a prison. It was a terrible experience, just for preaching the gospel. At midnight, they prayed and later began to sing. This is a heart that is not offended in God. (Matthew 11:6). Because they were singing praises, the Lord stepped into the prison, there was an earthquake, the prison doors were opened and everyone’s bound were loosed.

Friend, instead of murmuring in that situation turn to praises. Praises will bring the presence of God to rescue you (Psalm 22:3). Praises put the dominion of God over your enemy. Where God is presence the enemy will bow out and your troubles will vanish (Psalms 97:5). God's presence come as we choose to praise the Lord and your situation will change for good. Peace.

PRAYER: Lord, strengthen me to keep praising you for my freedom.

“IF YOU CAN BRING GOD IN, THERE WILL BE A CHANGE “
