COMPARISM

COMPARISM 2 Corinthians 10:7-18 Devotional:- “Oh, don't worry; we wouldn't dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant!” (v.12) NLT. Man, by his complexity, sometimes creates complications for himself in life. One of the things we often do incorrectly is to measure our lives by comparing them to other people’s lives. We often forget that we are sent for a different purpose, so our goals and objectives cannot be the same. There is nothing wrong with trying to gauge your level of performance against others in the same field. But it will be completely wrong for you to determine whether you are a failure or a success by the life of another man. Paul, the apostle of Christ, knows that his own purpose and program are from the Lord and are different from what others have been given. For example, if some apostles were marr...

MURMUR NOT

MURMUR NOT

Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 10:6-11
Devotional:- Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. (V. 10) KJV

So many people love the praises of God and yet they are specialist in murmuring. The truth is that you cannot be murmuring and be praiseful. You need to know that been praiseful means, you are celebrating the goodness and the greatness God. Murmuring means you are complaining that God is not good to you. So, show me how they can work together.

When some finish dancing and praising God in the church and on the way, they start to murmur again. This is common with people because they see their needs not met as they expected. This make people unconsciously start to complain. This can happen to anybody irrespective of status. We must grow above of this because God hate it.

The children of Israel murmur against God and they were destroyed. Please note that whenever you are murmuring, you are doing it against God. Anytime the urge to murmur comes up, just switch to praises. Stop comparing yourself with anyone. You only have a classmate or age mate and not a life mate. Each one’s season in life is different (2 Corinthians 10:12). Stop been intimidated by other people’s achievements. Your season will surely come (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Then you will be promoted before the Lord. Peace

PRAYER: Lord, give me a matured heart not to murmur again.
