MY REFUGE

MY REFUGE Psalms 46:1-7 Devotional:- "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (V. 1) It is always very easy for men to say God is not good to them when they have a pressing need. But if you observe it carefully, wisdom will let you always appreciate Him. It is not every one that began this year that is still alive now. Many were faced with challenges greater than themselves and were swallowed up. If you listen to the reasons for their falls, they are not too great. The truth is that you also have passed through challenges greater than theirs, but God was your refuge. Anytime you run to Him, you will find a hiding place in Him. Even when it looks like the situation wants to swallow you, you still find strength for help in God. Do you know that you have been enjoying His refuge not because you are better but because He loves you? No matter what happens, do not be afraid, your lover is your refuge. IT PLEASES THE LORD

IT PLEASES THE LORD

1 Thessalonians 5:14:22
Devotional- “in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (V. 18) NKJV

Human reasoning wants to rejoice only when things are good. When it looks less, we often want to complain and shift blame. The word of God instructs us to always rejoice in the Lord (Philippians 4:1). That is, rejoicing in the hope we have in our God. The Bible says “this is the will of God in Christ Jesus”.

Praises pleases God because it is a sign of appreciation or gratitude to Him. It pleases God because it is a sign of submission to His will. It pleases God because it helps you to return glory to God. It helps you to honour God. That is why praises pleases God.

Remember, when a man's way pleases the Lord, He make Him to be at peace with even his enemy. (Proverbs 16:7). When a man's way pleases the Lord, He blesses him beyond his request (1 Kings 3:10-14). David could win the heart of God because He knows how to praise Him.

Friend, learn to praise God from a pure heart. Then your ways will please Him and He shall bless you. Peace.

PRAYER: Lord, give me a humble heart to please you with my praises.
