NOT AUTOMATIC

NOT AUTOMATIC Philippians.1:1-11 Devotional:- “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns” (V.6 NLT) Knowing fully well that spiritual growth is one of your purpose of been on the earth, then you also need to know that developing Christ-like character takes years, it is not automatic. We open to God bit by bit. Discipleship is the process of conforming to Christ (Romans 12:2, Ephesians 4:13). The truth is that the journey to Christ-likeness is a life time journey. Growth involves believing, belonging (through fellowship) and becoming (through discipleship). Every day God want you to become a little more like Him (Colossians 3:10) Today we are interested in speed but God is interested in strength and stability than swiftness (2 Corinthians 3:18). The reason it takes time to grow is because we are slow learner. We often have to relearn a lesson forth or fifty times to reall...

STANDING ON

STANDING ON

Read: Acts 27:13 -25
Devotional:- “And now I urge you to take heart, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship.” (V.22)

Faith is standing upon the word of God. This is basing your calmness and confidence upon what God said. You will know a man of faith by his measure of calmness and peace irrespective of challenging situations he faces. He will not be moved by anything that is happening. Why? He has heard God and that He is enough for him. He is not fearful but calm-full. In other word within him he has overcome the war without.

In the scripture we read today is a terrible situation that confronted Paul the apostle and all that were with him in the ship. There was a great storm that had been on for days and weeks. They have faced so much loss of property, wealth and even confidence. But among them was Paul, he was not joining them to panic and expect death. He was standing on the word of God, so he had peace. Because he had heard from God, he concluded, “There shall be no loss of life” (Act 27:21-23).

Have you ever heard God speak to you about your situation, either through your pastor’s message or your bible? Friend, that is enough to deliver you (John 8:32). Stand upon this word of God and give up your struggles. God is up to His word (Psalm 119:89). He will not say what he is not able to do but you can allow or disallow him by the state of your heart. Stop that fear; tell yourself if he has said it, He is up to it. Take your peace and see the salvation of the Lord. There shall be no loss.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to always stand on your word.

“WHEN GOD SPEAKS AND YOU CAN SEE WHAT HE SAYS, THEN YOU CAN'T DOUBT HIS WORD"
