JOY

JOY John 16:16-24  Devotional:- “Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.” (V. 20) NKJV God’s word says when sorrow endures till a night, joy comes in the morning (Psalms 30:5). This is an assurance and evidence that what is called sorrow is not a permanent situation in the life of a child of God. This is because it is certain that when a night comes, morning is always the next. The night is evidence of the coming morning. This is evidence that what you are going through right now will soon result in joy. In fact, the tougher it is, the closer the joy. May you see it. The scripture we read today gave us a new dimension of hope in our lives. Jesus said, our sorrow shall turn to joy. That which we think is a thing of sorrow shall suddenly become a thing of joy. Jesus likens it to a woman who is in labour. Women in this state often feel as if the end has come. But ...

LABOUR OF FAITH.

LABOUR OF FAITH.

Read: Hebrews 4:1-12
Devotional:- “Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief” (V.11)

Most believers have not come to the understanding of the need to labour in the word of God. Everybody wants the exploit of the strength of the word of God in their lives but they are not ready to labour for it. Laboring in the word of God is simply studying to know the truth of the word of God.

Apostle Paul told Timothy to study to show himself approved to God ( 2 Timothy 2:15). It is said in Colossians 3:16 that the word of God should be rich in us. But this takes some measure of labour. So many Christians today cannot explain a verse in the Bible but can narrate all films in town. Some don’t search the scripture at all not to talk of having interest to go for Bible study or school. That is not only meant for the pastors but for everyone who wants to grow strong in the Lord and enter his rest. The Berea church was known for this (Acts 17:10-12).

From now when you contact a scripture either in church or personal study time, search to know it more. Study it to gain more understanding of it and you will be strong in faith. You will have rest over what trouble others. It is knowledge that makes strong (Proverbs 24:5). Peace.

Prayer: Lord, give me love for your word.

“THE MORE YOU KNOW THE STRONGER YOU WILL BE”
