NOT AUTOMATIC

NOT AUTOMATIC Philippians.1:1-11 Devotional:- “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns” (V.6 NLT) Knowing fully well that spiritual growth is one of your purpose of been on the earth, then you also need to know that developing Christ-like character takes years, it is not automatic. We open to God bit by bit. Discipleship is the process of conforming to Christ (Romans 12:2, Ephesians 4:13). The truth is that the journey to Christ-likeness is a life time journey. Growth involves believing, belonging (through fellowship) and becoming (through discipleship). Every day God want you to become a little more like Him (Colossians 3:10) Today we are interested in speed but God is interested in strength and stability than swiftness (2 Corinthians 3:18). The reason it takes time to grow is because we are slow learner. We often have to relearn a lesson forth or fifty times to reall...

ACTION

ACTION

Read: James 2: 14 -24
Devotional:- “Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead” (V.17)

Faith and action are inseparable. Wherever there is faith there will also be action. The truth is that faith has its evidence in action just as wisdom is evident in physical manifestation. When a man is not taking action it is because he has no faith. At the point of faith everyone will be ready for action, for it is the action that delivers every products of faith.

In the scripture we read today, God’s word confirmed to us that faith without work is dead. The word ‘work’ here is referring to action. The summary of this scripture is faith without action is not going to perform. If we truly believe that God is our source; if we believe that He is our sure help, then the evidence shall be in our readiness to do well to others even in our unpleasant situations.

This is because we know that our help shall surely come and we shall surely come to praise Him. Step out to obey the Lord. Step into that vision having receive His instruction. Start with the little. Step out to serve the Lord, to give in God’s house as God impresses on your heart. This does not reduce you. Be a blessing to the poor. Wear your new dress and be free from fear of not having a better one and God will keep surprising you.

Prayer: Lord, strengthen me to be out for you.

“UNTIL YOU STEP OUT OF THE OLD, YOU MAY NOT STEP INTO THE NEW”
