MY REFUGE

MY REFUGE Psalms 46:1-7 Devotional:- "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (V. 1) It is always very easy for men to say God is not good to them when they have a pressing need. But if you observe it carefully, wisdom will let you always appreciate Him. It is not every one that began this year that is still alive now. Many were faced with challenges greater than themselves and were swallowed up. If you listen to the reasons for their falls, they are not too great. The truth is that you also have passed through challenges greater than theirs, but God was your refuge. Anytime you run to Him, you will find a hiding place in Him. Even when it looks like the situation wants to swallow you, you still find strength for help in God. Do you know that you have been enjoying His refuge not because you are better but because He loves you? No matter what happens, do not be afraid, your lover is your refuge. HOPE

HOPE

Read: Romans 4:13-22
Devotional:- “who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be” (V.18).

Today so many people have come to believe that having hope is actually wrong. They think life is better based on fate and not faith. Fate is whatever life can bring but faith is the assurance of what God can do. If you cannot be hopeful in God, then you cannot wait to see the great doing of God in your life.

Friend, get to know that it is only a man of hope that can be a man of faith. God will not be able to do in you more than you can hope in Him. That is why you must work to see the revival of positive hope in your life which is your hope in God.

In the scripture we read today, though Abraham had reasons to be hopeless yet he retained his hope in the sure word of God. Your hope will move God to action. Even though Abraham was old, he had experienced several years of childlessness. His wife had passed the stage of menopause, yet he knew that God’s word was too certain (Romans 4:19-22).

Friend, if only you can change your mind and start to hope in God’s promises for your life against all odds, then God’s word will start to have His course in your life. Peace!!!

Prayer: Lord, help me to always see the hope in your word.
