JOY

JOY John 16:16-24  Devotional:- “Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.” (V. 20) NKJV God’s word says when sorrow endures till a night, joy comes in the morning (Psalms 30:5). This is an assurance and evidence that what is called sorrow is not a permanent situation in the life of a child of God. This is because it is certain that when a night comes, morning is always the next. The night is evidence of the coming morning. This is evidence that what you are going through right now will soon result in joy. In fact, the tougher it is, the closer the joy. May you see it. The scripture we read today gave us a new dimension of hope in our lives. Jesus said, our sorrow shall turn to joy. That which we think is a thing of sorrow shall suddenly become a thing of joy. Jesus likens it to a woman who is in labour. Women in this state often feel as if the end has come. But ...

WHAT IS A WORK?

WHAT IS A WORK?

Genesis 2:8-17
Devotional : "Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Aden to tend and keep it.” (V. 15)

It is important we have good understanding of what a work is. Without work, a life will be useless and worthless. God created us to work. God’s word says, He that will not work should not eat (2 Thessalonians 3:10). One of the evil that has plagued the world today is that, we have wrongly defined what a work is and limit it to only a means of income.

The scripture we read today shows us why God put man in the world, it is to work. A work is an effort expended on a particular assignment. It is a measure of energy released, either Spiritual, mental or physical, in moving an object from its original state to a better state of life. It is reshaping a thing or an event to benefit humanity. It is to provoke, excite or influence positive change. This is what God is waiting to bless.

Friend, as we await the coming of our Lord Jesus, we must know that we shall be rewarded in eternity for our work (2 Corinthians 5:10). Work is  demonstrating the goodness of God through your life of faith. Work is not a curse, but a blessing. Do not keep wasting the blessing, energy, gifts and talents of God in your life. It is time to find a place to use them to make life better. Be involved in domestic, community and kingdom work from now. And your reward will be abundant. Peace

PRAYER: Lord, help me to impact lives with my work
