WAITING ON THE LORD

WAITING ON THE LORD 2 Samuel 5:1-10 Devotional:- “David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years” (v.4) NKJV One of the good virtues of God we must always appreciate is His faithfulness. God is not a man that will lie; whatever He has said in His word, He is able to do and He shall do. You can always plug yourself into His promises as much as you work in His covenants. I always tell people never to think God’s word is written only to some specific persons we hear or read about in the Bible. The word of God is the standard practice and programme of God. They were only privileged to be the ones to receive the word at their time, but God is still the same, and so is His word. In claiming the word of God, you must learn to be able to patiently wait. People who will retain their joy must add this virtue to their life (Hebrews 6:12). Our scripture today told us of the installation of David as king, but that was a promise he received from God when he was about 1...

TRUST IN THE LORD

TRUST IN THE LORD

Psalm 115:9-18
Devotional:- “O Israel, trust in the LORD; He is their help and their shield” (v. 9)

To consecrate our lives to God, we must totally put our trust in the Lord. This will make us to depend on Him in all things. To trust in the Lord means to commit your life into the hand of the Lord. It is to depend on the faithfulness of the Lord, notwithstanding the situation one may be passing through. It is to refuse to doubt the ability of God and to wait on His faithfulness.

The Psalmist said, those who trust in the Lord shall be like Mount Zion which cannot be moved (Psalm 125:1-2). This interprets stability. Those who trust in the Lord shall be secured by the Lord (Psalm 20:7-8). Those who trust in the Lord shall be protected by the Lord (Psalm 16:30). Those who trust in the Lord shall enjoy the mercy of the Lord (Psalm 32:10).

God’s word says those who trust in the Lord shall be blessed (Psalm 34:8). No matter what you may be passing through, trust in the Lord to see you through and you shall find help in Him. If the three Hebrews were not put to shame, you shall not be put to shame (Daniel 3:16-25). If Moses and the children of Israel were not put to shame by the red sea, you will not be put to shame. Trust in Him with all your heart. He will honour His name in your life. Peace

PRAYER: Lord, help me to always trust in you
