That is, they get annoyed and refuse to relate to one another. Many of us have some people we don’t greet now on this account. Some people have taken offence at their parents and relations, and they refused to relate to them. The truth is that if you know the harm you are doing to yourself by so doing, you will give up on this.   In the scripture we read today, John the Baptist was not happy because Jesus did not come to rescue him from prison, and he took offence at Christ. TAKE YOUR CROSS AND FOLLOW

TAKE YOUR CROSS AND FOLLOW

Luke 9:21-27
Devotional:- “Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me” (V23)

No one can end up his/her journey in heaven with Jesus except he/she is ready to follow Jesus with the cross. Jesus, been our perfect example in God carries His cross a long distance to the place of crucifixion. It was a painful experience of His life. So we must all do the same. This time not to the mountain of Crucifixion but of glorification.

To carry our crosses and follow Him means we keep our walk with Jesus not minding the challenging experiences of our lives. The crosses are the different challenges and trials of our lives. Those crosses intend to stop us in the journey of life but we must be determined to use it as our factor to growing stronger in the Lord.

This will surely demand good understanding of the way of the Lord. It will demand you denying yourself in every situation to follow only the way of the Lord. Then, we will be strong enough to take the journey to eternity with Jesus. Peace.

PRAYER: Lord, strengthen me to follow to the end.
