DISTANCING FROM THE SCRIPTURES

DISTANCING FROM THE SCRIPTURES Deuteronomy 8:1-11 Devotional:- “To teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD” (v.3) NIV      The word of God is the bank of our strength in God. The word of God is the strength of God (John 1:1-3; Hebrews 4:12). Through the word, God had done all He had done. God’s word says, without Him, nothing else was created (John 1:3). When a man, therefore, distances himself from the Word of God, such is distancing himself from his source, He will lack the strength of God.

HEAVENLY FOCUS

HEAVENLY FOCUS

Colossians 3:1-11
Devotional:- “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth” (V. 2

It is important that all children of God should set their mind on things above. The Holy Spirit is from heaven (Acts 2:1-4). Jesus Christ our redeemer came from above (John 8:23). That is why our focus should be heaven. If our focus is heaven, then all we are doing should be of eternal value. The word of God says, where your treasure is, that is where your heart shall be (Matthew 6:21)

The scripture we read today encourages us to set our mind on things above. Which means we should be heaven focused. In everything we are laying our hands upon, we should consider the eternal value; the eternal implication and the eternal reward. We should be careful not to just do things for doing sake, so that we can prepare for our eternity in all our ways.

Friends, know that the things of this world are passing away soon (1 John 2:17). You and I should not pass with the world. Let us be mindful of where we go, what we do and what we give ourselves to. We should be expecting the coming of the Lord always. This should make us to live ready for His coming. You will not miss your flight in Jesus name. Peace

PRAYER: Lord, fill my heart with the glory of heaven

“WHERE YOUR TREASURE IS, THERE YOUR HEART WILL BE”
