SHARING YOUR FEELING

SHARING YOUR FEELING Hebrews 4:11-16 Devotional:- “For we do not have an high priest who cannot sympathize with our weakness… (V. 15)” It is not always very easy for people to understand us, especially when we pass through challenges and are weak. Even those who want to understand and sympathise could get to a level and turn back. Sometimes, instead of people sympathising with us, they constitute a panel of judges and begin to point accusing fingers at us.  As part of the act of love of Jesus, the scripture we read today says, He sympathises with us in our situation. In other words, He knows exactly what you are going through, both the one you can explain and the one you cannot. He could feel exactly the way you feel. The Bible says, He has suffered as we do. Even if you are struggling with a weakness or a sin, He has also been in the flesh. He knows how painful your feelings are. He cannot reject you, and He identifies with you and still loves you. LOVING GOD

 LOVING GOD

Matthew 22:34-40
Devotional:- “Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind” (v.37) NKJV

True disciples of Christ must live in true and total love for God and for His fellow brethren. Since Jesus is love personified, our lives should also reflect the image of the son of God (1 John 4:8). It was love that brought Him to this world. It was love that took him to the cross. It was love that made Him to die in order to redeem us.

Love produces care and kindness, but much more, love makes us to obey the Lord (1 John 4:8). So, the true evidence of love is submission and obedience (John 14:23-24). In the scripture we read today, Jesus thought us to love God with all our heart, which means, we are to love God passionately. We are to love God with all our soul, which means, to allow Him to direct our total being. We are to love God with all our mind, which means, we allow our thinking to agree with that of Jesus (Isaiah 55:8-9)

Jesus said we should love our neighbor as ourself. Do you observe that you love yourself sincerely and responsively? The same way we should do to others (Ephesians 5:29). That is why no true disciple of Jesus can hate anyone. When you start to walk in love towards God and man, then you will be like Christ. Peace!

Prayer: Lord, plant the Spirit of love in me
