Pleasure to most people means idleness, sleeping, jesting, watching T.V and all sorts of films, extravagant spending at beer parlous and hotels, eating in all the city kitchens and to some it is just travelling all around. The truth is that none of those things are real pleasure. If those things are what you call pleasures, then, no matter how much you have now, poverty and sorrow are on the way. FRUIT BEARING   

John 15: 1-8
Devotional:- “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples” (v.8) NKJV


    We can identify a disciple by the fruit he bears (Matthew 7:20). A disciple of Jesus will live, talk and behave like Jesus. This is an evidence that he is following His master. Your life is a reflection of the person you are following. Your relationship determines your life and way of life. 

  Jesus said we must be in close relationship with Him to be His disciple. The word of God said, we need to abide in Him (John 15:4). This is an intimate relationship that makes us to accurately emulate the master. Anyone cannot be in a very close relationship with Jesus and not be able to bear the same fruit with Jesus. (Proverbs 13: 20). To abide in Jesus, we have to abide in His words (John 9:31)

Please understand that, we, bearing Christian names does not make us Christian. Jesus said, by their fruits you shall know them (Matt 7: 20) These fruits are the life style of those who are following the master. They are the fruit of the spirit (Gala 5: 21) In John 15:8, Jesus said, it is only when our lives bear the fruits of the spirit, that we can be called the disciple of Jesus (John 8:31). This means, each of us can measure if we are of Christ or not. Take time to keep close relationship with the word of God and the people of God. It is then you will begin to bear the fruit of Christ. Peace. 

Prayer: Lord, make me a fruit bearing Christian.

The Bible did not advise us to do business but it commanded us. That is why it would be wrong for you and me to be without a business. That makes idleness a crime against self (1 Thessalonians 4:11). Business is whatever you are doing to earn income. God will not accommodate idleness with anyone because He invested heavily in us.

It is during suffering that we learn to pray our most authentic, heart-felt and honest prayers to God (James 5:16). God would have kept Jeremiah from the throne to the pit, Joseph from been thrown into the jail, Paul from been shipwrecked or the three Hebrew from been thrown into the fire but he left those problems to himself.
