SHARING YOUR FEELING

SHARING YOUR FEELING Hebrews 4:11-16 Devotional:- “For we do not have an high priest who cannot sympathize with our weakness… (V. 15)” It is not always very easy for people to understand us, especially when we pass through challenges and are weak. Even those who want to understand and sympathise could get to a level and turn back. Sometimes, instead of people sympathising with us, they constitute a panel of judges and begin to point accusing fingers at us.  As part of the act of love of Jesus, the scripture we read today says, He sympathises with us in our situation. In other words, He knows exactly what you are going through, both the one you can explain and the one you cannot. He could feel exactly the way you feel. The Bible says, He has suffered as we do. Even if you are struggling with a weakness or a sin, He has also been in the flesh. He knows how painful your feelings are. He cannot reject you, and He identifies with you and still loves you. IN HIS WORD

IN HIS WORD

John 8: 31-36
Devotional:- “Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed” (v.31) NKJV

A disciple of Jesus is not the one who come to just hear the word of God. They are rather those who abide or stay with the word of God (John 8:31). The desire of a disciple of Jesus is to be like Jesus. This is loving the way He lives. This is patterning our lives after the life of Jesus because of the great encounter we have with Him (Matthew 17:4).

In the scripture we read today, Jesus show us the way to becoming His disciple. This is by abiding in the word of God. It is staying with the word till we have good understanding. It is meditating on the word till we encounter the revelation of what God is saying (Psalm 1:1-3). By this, we will become doer of the word and be able to live as He lives (Joshua 1:8)

Friend, to abide in the word of God takes strong discipline and commitment to live in the word. It is to live only by what the word says. This is by willingly taking the word, meditate and live according to the word (Joshua 1:8).  This is when we can have the best of God (Isaiah 1: 19) Discipleship is cultivating the life of Christ through the word of God. This is when the word of God is reforming our inner person to be like Christ. This is when we can reflect the image of Christ (2 Cor 3: 18). Peace.

Prayer: Lord, put the love of your word in my heart.

"YOUR MIND ONLY GET SHAPPENED TO THE WORD YOU ALWAYS HEAR"
