MEDIATING Hebrews 8:1-13 Devotional:- “But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises” (V. 6) NKJV In the Old Testament, the human priest used to stand in the gap between God and man. But because they are also human and can also sin, their priesthood was not able to actually deliver the human race. This is the ministry Jesus is carrying out on behalf of the believers since His ascension to heaven.  This ministry was taken over by Jesus because He loves us. Though He is seated on the throne but sitting closely to the Father to advocate for us. A mediator is someone who stands in the gap between the benefactor and the beneficiary. He is the one who pleads our cause to God. He is the one who intercedes for us before the Father. That is why we can be certain of our faith in God through Christ Jesus. Friend, since we know that we have Christ Jesus standing in for us, then our faith ...

SELF DENIAL

SELF DENIAL

Matthew 16:24-28
Devotional: -“Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me” (v.24) NKJV

An important factor in the process of discipleship is that, you must deny yourself to be able to follow Jesus. Self, is the major hindrance to our walking with God. By self, I mean the flesh, this is the human nature in us. This human nature has been cultured into sinful and selfish life. The flesh does not want to please God (Romans 8:5-8). So, those who are ruled by the desires of their flesh cannot please God.

`If anyone want to be a disciple of Jesus, he/she must deny the flesh to satisfy God. Our body is made up to help us relate with the physical world, but we must put it under control, so that, it does not send us to hell (1 Corinthians 9:27). The flesh is the five senses that always give us information of the things of the world.

`Every attempt you made to please God; your human nature will not support it. So, you need to deny it by not allowing it control you against God, but yielding to the Holy Spirit and the word of God. It is then you can begin to grow into the likeness of Christ. Your ability to say No to the flesh and Yes to God is a good step towards maturity. Then, His beauty shall be seen on you. Peace!

Prayer - Lord, give me the enablement to yield to you always.
