HAPPY CHILDREN

HAPPY CHILDREN Ephesians 6:1-4 Devotional:- “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right” (V. 1) NKJV  Children are always very happy. Research said an average child laughs between 300 to 400 times in a day. They sometimes wonder why Daddy and Mummy don’t laugh as they do. That is the reason children also need the wisdom to sustain their Joy despite their age. Our scripture today teaches children who want to remain happy to be obedient to their parents. God organizes the home as a school of life for children and parents, and is the major teacher. As long as your parent teaches you in the way of the Lord, be obedient to them. Honour your parents always. To honour means to respect and yield to their guide. By so doing, you will make them glad, and you will also remain a joyful person all the days of your life.  Always remember that it is what you so that you will reap. Their words may not look like wisdom to you now, this is because of your level of maturit...

PURPOSE OF DISCIPLESHIP

PURPOSE OF DISCIPLESHIP

Luke 14: 25-27
Devotional:-"If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple” (v.26) NKJV

Discipleship is an important aspect of our Christian life, without which we cannot really call anyone a child of God. That is why, we need to understand the purpose of discipleship. Today, so many people who come to church can also be found in beer parlors and harlot houses. This is because they were not discipled for Christ.

When Jesus began His ministry, the first set of people He was out to get were people that will be His disciples (Mark 3:14) It was the twelve, the seventy and the one hundred and twenty that stood for Him when He ascended to heaven. It is Christ’s disciples that are labouring to share the gospel all over the world today.

Jesus raised disciples that men and God can be truly connected in love (Luke 14: 26). He raised His disciples so that man can represent God on the earth (John 20:21). If there is no discipleship, there will be no spiritual maturity. It is discipleship that makes man love God not withstanding their challenges. It is discipleship that makes us endure in patience till our miracles come (2 Timothy 2:3). It is discipleship that make us learn from Christ and look like Him (Matthew 10:25). The weaknesses in the church today are basically because we have stopped making disciples. It is therefore, important that you commit yourself to growing like Jesus to become His disciple. Take this responsibility for Christ and you will be like Him indeed. Peace.

Prayer: Lord, make me a true disciple of Christ.
