Pleasure to most people means idleness, sleeping, jesting, watching T.V and all sorts of films, extravagant spending at beer parlous and hotels, eating in all the city kitchens and to some it is just travelling all around. The truth is that none of those things are real pleasure. If those things are what you call pleasures, then, no matter how much you have now, poverty and sorrow are on the way. HUMILITY

HUMILITY

Philippians 2:5-15
Devotional:-“And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross” (v.8) NKJV

A virtue that all disciples of Jesus must possess is the virtue of humility. No one can successfully work with God without been humble. As long as you have surrendered your life to Jesus and you have accepted Him as your Lord and Savior, He has the right to direct your life. Don't forget that a landlord is a controller of his house, so also Jesus is to us. To understand the real meaning of humility, we must learn from the life of Christ.

The scripture we read today tells us how Jesus humbled himself. Though He is one with God, yet He did not lay claim on this. It means, He was not title minded. He made Himself of no reputation, even as a servant. Most people want to be known as master but Jesus want to be known as servants. The creator allows His creature to crucify Him. This was too much.

The word of God says, it is enough for servant to be like the master (Matthew 10:25). Humility is willingness to drop your own plan and obey the instructions of the master. Jesus obeyed God even on the cross. So, we should always obey God, no matter what. Then we can be called true disciple of Christ and we can enjoy the full blessing of His grace. Peace!

PRAYER: Lord, give me the grace of humility.

“THE HUMBLE YOU ARE, THE GREATER YOU ARE TO GOD”
