WALKING WITH GOD Genesis 17:1-12
Devotional - “When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless”” (V. 1)
To stand in victory is not just by head knowledge or by title. It is a status of the Spirit. It takes faith to stand in victory (1 John 5:4). And faith is a product of the revelation of the word of God (Romans 10:17). No one can consistently be strong in faith except by constant relationship with God. It is not just by reading but by meditation and continuous relationship with God.
Abraham and his wife were trying to help the word of God to come to pass: Therefore, they device their own way to have a child. But God called him to order by telling him that His promises will surely come to pass. These will only demand quality relationship with God.
To have quality relationship with God: demands overcoming the power of the flesh and be willing to hang around God in worships and in prayers daily. It demands acknowledging and receiving instructions for direction in all things. It demands obedience to His directions. A man can only enjoy this by taking time out to regularly fellowship with God personally and with the church (Psalm 84:7). This is a major price to be paid to become completely untouchable for the enemy. By walking with Him, His power comes to be at work with us for our victory. Peace.
PRAYER: Lord, give me the grace to always walk with you
“ONLY THOSE WHO ARE WALKING WITH GOD CAN GAIN HIS STRENGTH”
