It is our lack of understanding of this teaching of Jesus Christ that has brought most of the frustrations to the lives of believers. Many of us also want to live like the people of the world around us. We have forgotten that the Spirit in us is not of the world. (John 17:14).   What is this mystery? It is a mystery of focusing and spending our lives on God’s purposes for our lives above all things to bring glory to God. The Bible says, ...

It is very easy for some people to relax because of discouragement. When such have put forth the best to achieve something good, and it looks as if the forces of life are standing against them, they want to give up and refuse to do something serious again. They take to the thought “I know it may not work”. But do you know, no matter what the enemy may be doing, your destiny is intact? There is nothing anyone can do to destroy your destiny. All they may achieve is to discourage you to make you irresponsible in achieving your goal.

That is why you don’t live as a loser, no matter what you are going through. Keep preparing for your success. One of such preparations is to keep denying yourself to diligently pursue your goals. Don’t live expecting to fail. To deny yourself means to learn to adjust yourself to meet the demands of achievement. It means enduring the pains of the price of pursuing your goal (1 Corinthians 9:27). It also means refraining from pleasure that gives temporary satisfaction. It means fleeing every lust (1 Timothy 6:9-11). Paul said, “I endure all things for the elect’s sake” (2 Timothy 2:10).

Keep doing what you know you should be doing to succeed. Your body will always want to complain, but you should tell yourself I must succeed, whether the enemy likes it or not. Don’t be afraid of challenges. Whatever it takes, you are able (Philippians 4:13). Don’t let anything be more important than your destiny. Don’t stop running. You will get there at last.

Prayer: Lord, grant me the grace to deny myself to succeed

“SELF-DENIAL IS A MAJOR PRICE FOR YOUR SUCCESS”
