To reign in this wicked world, believers must understand the mystery of living a ‘kingdom first’ life. It is our lack of understanding of this teaching of Jesus Christ that has brought most of the frustrations to the lives of believers. Many of us also want to live like the people of the world around us. We have forgotten that the Spirit in us is not of the world. (John 17:14).
What is this mystery? It is a mystery of focusing and spending our lives on God’s purposes for our lives above all things to bring glory to God. The Bible says, all other things shall be added unto us. This does not mean that we shall not work, build houses and buy cars, but it will not be with stress. This is bringing glory to God through all we do. This is not saying that we should not plan on how we are going to build and buy. But we should not see them as the utmost in life. Because of this, many people now lack joy and peace, have hypertension and go into all the dubious practices to accumulate wealth (Luke 12:15).
To seek first the kingdom of God is to live to achieve, bringing glory to God in all you do (1 Corinthians 10:31). It is to be a committed member and promote the body of Christ, the church, wherever you are (Ephesians 1:5 NLT). It is to seek to grow to maturity in the likeness of God (Romans 8:29). To be a blessing to all around your life through your gifts, grace and abilities (Ephesians 2:10). To bring others to the kingdom of God through your life (Matthew 28:19-20). As we give our attention to God’s will and purpose for our lives, He will teach us the way to go and be profitable in life (Isaiah 48:17). What the world is dying to attain, you will live to attain without stress.
Prayer: Lord, help me to daily enjoy living
in your purpose for my life.
“AS YOU GIVE ATTENTION TO GOD, HE WILL
GIVE ATTENTION TO YOU”
