Sometimes our challenges make us lose focus on God. We need to realise that this is the trick of the devil. He only wants to smartly disconnect us from our source. And a river that is disconnected from its source will soon dry up.   Abraham was looking for his own way to make things happen in his life and started losing focus on God by getting another wife to fulfil the promise of God. LEARN AND RELATE

 LEARN TO RELATE

Romans 12:14-21
Devotional:- “Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited” (v. 16) NIV.

We live in a world today that promotes youthful excesses more than that of the mature. We do this in the name of youthful innovations. That is why no office wants to employ relatively old individuals any more. It’s a competitive world. This is making a greater percentage of the world fail in the area of relationships. This is because it is a youthful idea to think you don’t need others. The world of this age is trying to build self-sufficient people. This is the reason many have not learnt the wisdom of relationships. For this reason, today, many people don’t have a home. Many have lost their job and joy. Many have missed many opportunities.

The scripture we read today teaches us the right attitude to enjoy a relationship with others. Be careful of pride or overvaluing yourself (Romans 12:3). Pride will always bring a man down (Proverbs 16:18). What do you have that God has not given you? Bless those who persecute you. Bless people from your heart, no matter what they’ve done for you; do not curse (Romans 12:14). When others are happy, be happy with them. Sometimes, put aside your sorrows and rejoice with others. Don’t avoid sorrowful people; encourage them (Romans 12:15). Be at peace with all men (Hebrews 12:14, Proverbs 16:17). Be willing to associate with low people. God has made you a solution. Don’t you ever be wise in your own eyes? Don’t repay anyone evil for evil (Romans 12:17). Let your honesty be known. Don’t be bitter with anyone. Leave vengeance to God; forgive and forget (Romans 12:19). Love your enemy. Conquer evil by doing well. Friend, though these might look funny and unacceptable to the society we live in, these are the wisdom of God to maintain good relationships with others. You will not miss it.

Prayer: Lord, build your wisdom into me by your Spirit.
