PARENT OF THE GREAT
Exodus 2:1-10Devotional:- “So the woman conceived and bore a son. And when she saw that he was a beautiful child, she hid him three months..” (V. 2) NKJV.
Anything you see that is great in life was incubated by some great people. If you can see anyone becoming great in life, you can easily trace the history back to the parents. I found something funny in this world: everyone wants their children to be great, but they don't bother to raise them for this purpose. People are wise enough to raise chickens for different purposes – some for laying eggs and some for consumption – but few are raising children with the purpose of leadership. We often expect the children to just grow and be great by luck or chance. If you observe great people in the Word of God, you can easily trace it back to their parents. This you can see in the lives of Isaiah, Joseph, David and others. I think it will be funny to sow maize and expect to reap yams.
Moses, as we read today, was born to a woman who came from the tribe of Judah. Observe that she saw something great in her child (Acts 7:20 NIV). Because she saw greatness in her child, she could not submit him for killing like others would have done. There is something great inside your own child, also. The mother of Moses hid him for three months. When she could no longer hide him, she operated in the revelation of the ark of Noah, which preserved Noah and his family during the time of the flood. She made an ark for her child. This ark is Jesus. You need to let your children have Christ in them, so they will overcome in the days of crisis.
By her intercession for this great child, God granted her favour, and she became the paid nurse for this great destiny. She nurses him as future king, as servant of the Lord and leader of a nation. He was given the best of education (Acts 7:22). She knew that a novice would only be a servant of servants (1 Timothy 3:6). She trained him in all wisdom, moral education, and the fear of God. She taught him to love God and people (Exodus 2: 11-12). She taught him to always obey God (Exodus 4:20). She taught him to love and serve through humility (Exodus 3:1, 1 Peter 5:6) and to show gratitude to God (Exodus 15:1). Friend, you are the producer of the next Moses. Wake up!
Ask: Lord, help me to be a producer of greatness.
