DON'T HATE

 DON’T HATE

Matthew 5:43-48
Devotional:- “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,” (V. 44) NKJV

The subject of love is not always easy to practise between you, and those who have shown themselves as committed enemies. Those who will openly stand against you. Those who just hate you for no reason. Those who don’t pray that anything good should happen to you. Yet the Bible gave us a commandment in the midst of it all to love and never to hate them. What a great task!

But until a Christian grows to this level, he cannot actually be called mature. The way to handle it is that we should bless those who curse us. Always do good to those who hate you. If they are moved by the spirit in them to do evil to you, be moved by the Spirit in you to love them. We cannot truly say we love till we can prayerfully demonstrate the character of love. In your time, consciously mention their name to God for help and blessing. This is what proves you as a true Son of God. We need to know that love is being kind, tolerant, and patient. And these will not be necessary for someone perfect, but for the imperfect.

We need to know that love is a natural behaviour of God. And if He dwells in us, we cannot do otherwise. By this, the love of God through our life could reveal God to the evildoers (1 Peter 3:1-2). Later, they will observe you and recognise that you are more mature and godly than they are. And they will come to submit to the God you serve. And God will reward you for having made yourself a vessel of change for someone else. It is well.

Prayer: Lord, make me a true lover.
