 GIFT AND GRACE


Romans 12:3-8
Devotional:- “We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith”(V. 6) NIV
 
One of the means through which we can demonstrate our love to others is by using the grace and the gifts that are in our lives. As a child of God, you are privileged to enjoy two levels of gifts. The first are the talents and gifts. The second are the gifts of the Holy Spirit. There is no one who is not talented in one area or the other. It may be to cook, sing, design, draw or write. It could also be in the area of sport or decoration. But as a child of God, there is another dimension of gifts in your life given by the Holy Spirit. These are gifts of prophecy, healing, knowledge, wisdom, working of miracles, discernment of spirit, diverse tongues or interpretation of tongues (1 Corinthians 12:6-10).

If you don’t know that you have any of this gift, it is because you have not carefully observed to discover them. In each of these gifts and talents, you will discover a particular one in which you excel more. On that, you have been enjoying God’s grace, and all you need is to develop and use them consciously.

The essence of these gifts and talents is that we might use them in love to help and be a blessing to others. In that lies your profit also. The scripture we read today says, if it is prophecy, use it at the level of faith, if it is teaching or encouraging, do it with all your heart, if it is giving, rather do it generously, if it is leadership, do it with all diligence, or mercy with cheerfulness.

Remember those gifts are not yours they are of God, They are given to us for the sake of others (Genesis 12:1-2). So be willing to use them with love. The amazing thing is that if you hoard them, they fade away, but if you keep using them to bless people, you will keep getting richer in the gifts. Get involve in service units of your church or other community and your gifts will manifest. Please, always put it in mind that God made you to solve problems in the world and this you do by serving others. Friend, you are privileged, so be a blessing

Prayer: Lord, make me a blessing to my generation.
“FULFILLMENT IN LIFE COMES FROM BEING A BLESSING”

The Bible did not advise us to do business but it commanded us. That is why it would be wrong for you and me to be without a business. That makes idleness a crime against self (1 Thessalonians 4:11). Business is whatever you are doing to earn income. God will not accommodate idleness with anyone because He invested heavily in us.

COURAGE Joshua 1:1-9 Devotional:- “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go” (V. 9) NKJV      A major reason why many people are weak is because their level of courage is so low, that it cannot sustain them through to success. So they easily give up when faced with challenges. There is need for us to understand that there is no action that will not attract a reaction. So the only answer is courage.
