WAITING ON THE LORD

WAITING ON THE LORD 2 Samuel 5:1-10 Devotional:- “David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years” (v.4) NKJV One of the good virtues of God we must always appreciate is His faithfulness. God is not a man that will lie; whatever He has said in His word, He is able to do and He shall do. You can always plug yourself into His promises as much as you work in His covenants. I always tell people never to think God’s word is written only to some specific persons we hear or read about in the Bible. The word of God is the standard practice and programme of God. They were only privileged to be the ones to receive the word at their time, but God is still the same, and so is His word. In claiming the word of God, you must learn to be able to patiently wait. People who will retain their joy must add this virtue to their life (Hebrews 6:12). Our scripture today told us of the installation of David as king, but that was a promise he received from God when he was about 1...

POWER OR CHANGE

POWER OR CHANGE

Philippians 4:1-8
Devotional:- “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” (V.8) NLT

Nothing can change in your life until the change commences from your heart. Changes from within will always give birth to outward change (Matthew 12:35). The key to change is always in the hand of men and the key is the choice of what we give our heart to thinking. If you choose to change your thinking pattern, about people, situations, and all about you, then your change has commenced.

In the scripture we read today, is a lesson on how to bring about our change. This is by limiting our thinking only to the pattern of God’s word. For this to be possible a man needs a total renewal of his mind. This is possible by daily bathing in the water of the word of God meditatively (Romans 12:2, John 15:3). God’s word can cleanse our mind if we wholly give ourselves to it with the meekness of the heart (Ephesians 5:26). Whatever you meditate on will be printed in your heart finally. Limit your thinking to what the word of God instructs and you will stay positive in all situations.

This is not the natural way to think but the grace of God will strengthen you. The truth is that, if you can change your mental focus you have changed your life. Receive grace.

Prayer: Lord, give me a new heart to think in a brand-new glorious way
