COMPARISM

COMPARISM 2 Corinthians 10:7-18 Devotional:- “Oh, don't worry; we wouldn't dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant!” (v.12) NLT. Man, by his complexity, sometimes creates complications for himself in life. One of the things we often do incorrectly is to measure our lives by comparing them to other people’s lives. We often forget that we are sent for a different purpose, so our goals and objectives cannot be the same. There is nothing wrong with trying to gauge your level of performance against others in the same field. But it will be completely wrong for you to determine whether you are a failure or a success by the life of another man. Paul, the apostle of Christ, knows that his own purpose and program are from the Lord and are different from what others have been given. For example, if some apostles were marr...

LOVE PERSONIFY

LOVE PERSONIFY

1 John 4:7-11
Devotional:- "He who does not love does not know God, for God is love". (V. 8)

A major attitude that all children of God must grow into is the character of love.  If we are going to grow any character or habit, we must identify the source and the spirit of such (1 John 4:1). To love is natural in man because we are made like God. It is therefore the spirit we are connected to that will determine the composition and the nature of our love life.

The word of God says God is love personified. That means His nature and life is love. That is why He can be God. He endures and tolerates us. He cares and nurtures us. He gives us all things in abundance. For anyone to be able to cultivate the character of love, he/she must walk with the God of love. Every other spirit will lure us into selfishness but God is love.

Friend, stop following God without focus. If you are truly following Him, you can not live in hatred. It is therefore very important that we sincerely follow Him, allow Him to teach us the character of love. This is by willing, learning and following His ways. Love is developed as we hang around His presence (Proverbs 13:20). Then you will live in true love- Peace.

PRAYER: Lord, teach me the way of love

“He that is not walking in love is walking in death”
