COMPARISM

COMPARISM 2 Corinthians 10:7-18 Devotional:- “Oh, don't worry; we wouldn't dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant!” (v.12) NLT. Man, by his complexity, sometimes creates complications for himself in life. One of the things we often do incorrectly is to measure our lives by comparing them to other people’s lives. We often forget that we are sent for a different purpose, so our goals and objectives cannot be the same. There is nothing wrong with trying to gauge your level of performance against others in the same field. But it will be completely wrong for you to determine whether you are a failure or a success by the life of another man. Paul, the apostle of Christ, knows that his own purpose and program are from the Lord and are different from what others have been given. For example, if some apostles were marr...

CULTIVATING LOVE

CULTIVATING LOVE

1 Timothy 4:12-16
Devotional:- "Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all". (V. 15)

Children of God need to know that attending church services or serving as a worker in the church alone does not make a Christian. True Christians are not Christians just because they go to church. True Christians are identified by the fruits they bear (Matthew 7:21-23). Love is one of the fruits of the spirit. It is important we know that trees don't just bear fruits, they have to cultivate them

That is why fruits of the spirit or attitude of the word of God that you don't cultivate may not naturally be manifesting in you. So we have to be deliberate in cultivate the fruits of love. To cultivate a fruit of character is by labouring in the word of God. We have to study the word of God about love until it form part of our thinking. God’s word is to be meditated on day and night (Joshua 1:8). We should give ourselves wholly to thinking the way of the love of Christ.

Whatever you keep meditating on, you will keep acting on. It is what you are driving into your heart through meditation that you will keep acting out. If you cannot meditate continually over anything, it cannot be part of your character (Romans 12:2 NLT). This way the love of Christ will be spread abroad in your heart by the help of the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5). Then you can keep demonstrating God's kind of love. Peace

PRAYER: Lord, let your love be planted in my heart

“If you cannot stop the thoughts, you cannot stop the acts”
