  JOY John 16:16-24  Devotional:- “Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.” (V. 20) NKJV God’s word says when sorrow endures till a night, joy comes in the morning (Psalms 30:5). This is an assurance and evidence that what is called sorrow is not a permanent situation in the life of a child of God. This is because it is certain that when a night comes, morning is always the next. The night is evidence of the coming morning. This is evidence that what you are going through right now will soon result in joy. In fact, the tougher it is, the closer the joy. May you see it. The scripture we read today gave us a new dimension of hope in our lives. Jesus said, our sorrow shall turn to joy. That which we think is a thing of sorrow shall suddenly become a thing of joy. Jesus likens it to a woman who is in labour. Women in this state often feel as if the end has come. But ...

A RELIGIOUS MIND

John 8: 31-47
Devotional:-“They answered Him, "We are Abraham's descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, 'You will be made free'?" (v.33)


    Another type of mind people operates in especially in the church, is the religious mind. This is a mind programmed to hold on to the old truth and are not opened to the dynamic revelation of the word of God. Such mind is ready to fight in readiness to defend their old beliefs, that their fathers have handed over to them and they are not ready to receive a new revelation. Very good in quoting what God said, but not in what God is saying. 

The leaders of Israel at the time of Jesus were in this narrow minded situation. They held on so tightly to what Moses told them and they refused to accept and believe the gospel of Jesus. They saw all that Jesus was saying as blasphemy. As far as they are concerned God cannot send anyone apart from Moses. That way, they kill most of the prophet sent to them by God mercilessly just to defend their faith and thinking they were defending God.

Friend, if anyone around you have this mindset, you need to help them in prayer. They can't enjoy the help of the Holy Spirit and can't be used by God. They can pretend to be religious, but deny the power of the gospel (Col 2:20-23). Be careful of people like this, they can kill for God but can't allow God in their thinking. Such can only listen to the truth of the word of God during a trouble in life. As we pray for the salvation of the soul of such people, God can arrest them and save them. Peace 

PRAYER: Lord, help me not to refuse your light in my heart 

"A RELIGIOUS MIND DOES NOT ACCEPT THE TRUTH BUT HUMAN DOCTRINE"

MASTER’S MINAS Luke 19:11-27 Devotional:- “So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, 'Do business till I come” (V. 13) NKJV      The word of God instructs us to do business. The Bible did not advise us to do business but it commanded us. That is why it would be wrong for you and me to be without a business. That makes idleness a crime against self (1 Thessalonians 4:11). Business is whatever you are doing to earn income. God will not accommodate idleness with anyone because He invested heavily in us.

COURAGE Joshua 1:1-9 Devotional:- “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go” (V. 9) NKJV      A major reason why many people are weak is because their level of courage is so low, that it cannot sustain them through to success. So they easily give up when faced with challenges. There is need for us to understand that there is no action that will not attract a reaction. So the only answer is courage.
