That is, they get annoyed and refuse to relate to one another. Many of us have some people we don’t greet now on this account. Some people have taken offence at their parents and relations, and they refused to relate to them. The truth is that if you know the harm you are doing to yourself by so doing, you will give up on this.   In the scripture we read today, John the Baptist was not happy because Jesus did not come to rescue him from prison, and he took offence at Christ. He sent messengers to Jesus to ask if He was the Christ or not. This question see...

CARNAL MIND

CARNAL MIND

Romans 8: 1-8
Devotional: -“For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” (v.6)

Many people want to succeed, but they operate a carnal mind. No one can succeed without his mind. There is no success in view for a mad man. It is not that he is not a man; it is only that he is a man without a working mind. He cannot sell or organize a business or employ a staff to work for him and pay. Why? He cannot coordinate himself, a man who can do all that, is not mad. So also, no one can succeed without a good mind.

A carnal mind is a mind that is not subject to the Spirit or the word of God. He only operates in the old Adamic nature which is the nature of a natural man without Christ. This mind has been wrongly nurtured by the ungodly and sinful way of the world.  Though he may be coming to the church but has not allow the Holy Spirit to govern his heart. Such Christian jest with servants of God because to them, success in life does not demand serious commitment to God. So, he has not seen the need for God in his life. That is why there will be hidden activities of the devil around his life and family and that will only be more revealed in the days of challenges.

To be free from such negative experiences, the person has to separate himself to seek the Lord. He needs a genuine relationship with God by studying the word of God and praying daily. He needs to be committed to the fellowship of children of God for proper nurturing in the Lord. Then he will find the Lord as he seek him with a genuine heart. That is when he can begin to enjoy divine wisdom for his success. Peace

Prayer: Lord, deliver me from carnal mind by your Spirit.

"A CARNAL MIND IS ALWAYS UNRIGHTEOUS IN THINKING"
