DELIGHT IN THE WORD
DELIGHT IN THE WORD
Psalm 119:97-104
Devotional:- “How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!” (v.103) NKJV
One of the greatest strengths of joy is the Word of God. The truth is that man’s life is a product of the information that he always listen to. If a man always hears about wickedness, he will be wicked. If a man keeps hearing sorrowful news, he will keep having sorrow. But for those who will always commune in the word of God, they will keep their joy by the word of God.
This is because the word of God is good news; it’s the joyful news. There is no way you will give yourself to regular drinking from the word of God; that joy will not be produced regularly in you. The word is a sure source of joy.
The psalmist says God’s word is sweet not only to him but also to everyone who loves it. The reason why many Christians today still have sorrow despite the Bible in their hand is that it is a book to decorate their shelf at home and their church hand. Many only have the bible as a religious book and not as the word of life. To many, it is just an ordinary book that contains the story of the birth, life and death of Jesus.
See, if you will create time to start to study and meditate on God’s word, it will birth eternal joy in you. The word will give you a sweet life and success (Joshua 1:8). And no one shall destroy your joy.
Prayer: Lord, put the love of your word in my heart.
“IF THE WORD IS THE SOURCE OF YOUR JOY, NOTHING IN THE WORLD WILL BE ABLE TO DESTROY IT”
