APPRECIATION

APPRECIATION Psalm 92:1-10 Devotional:- “It is good to give thanks to the LORD, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High” (v.1) NKJV It is in the habit of most people that when they are expecting something from God, they will do everything possible to gain His favour. But as soon as it is done, that thing loses value to them. So, people only value what they don’t have. This sometimes does not make us have a heart of gratitude to God. We will always promise to give thanks, but as soon as we receive our expectations, some will forget to give thanks. Many do not know that the opportunity or privilege that is available to them is what qualifies them for what they are expecting. But they look down on this because their expectations have not been met. Your health is more important than travelling abroad. The breath of life you enjoy is far more valuable than the car or job you are expecting. In fact, this qualifies you for those things. Friend, no matter what God has done for you,...

FEAR

FEAR

1 John 4:11-21
Devotional:- “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love” (v.18) NKJV

Among the attitudes that hinder the flow of joy is the attitude of fear. Wherever there is fear, joy cannot be there. This is because peace is like a bed that joy normally sits on. Since the opposite of peace is fear. It becomes impossible to have joy with fear. This is the major problem with many, whom we refer to as great or rich. They find it difficult to have joy simply because of the fear in their heart.
Sources of fear include sin, disobedience to instruction, not living within your size, shady deals and non-believing in the word of God. The truth is fear can frustrate and kill joy, but there is something that can kill fear also. Wisdom demands that we should get what destroys fear, and this is faith. Faith is standing upon the word of God, i.e., choosing to rest because God’s word promises us peace, righteousness, patience, love and contentment.
All you need to do to start walking in faith is to keep hearing and reading the word of God (Romans 10:17). This will necessitate that you don’t joke with the house of God, which is the school of faith (Psalm 84:7). Make sure the message in the assembly that you attend is a message of faith. Refuse to compromise your faith in the word of God, and fear will no longer be around you. Then your joy shall be everlasting.

Prayer: Lord, deliver me from the spirit of fear.
“FEAR AND JOY CAN NEVER CO-EXIST”
