PURPOSE OF LOVE

PURPOSE OF LOVE Romans 5:6-11 Devotional:- “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us..” (V. 8). NKJV Sometimes we make such a mistake as loving only our lovers. We do not often think that by this we fulfill the Law of Moses and not the law of grace, loving only those who love us and probably hating those who hate us. But this is not true love. If you understand the purpose of love, you will know that love is not needed when everyone is perfect, but most needed because we are not. The scripture we read today demonstrates one of the greatest acts of God’s love to us. And this is a revelation of God’s love to you. Even though you commit sin and He hates sin, yet He loves you. It is for your sake that He sent Jesus, His only son, to die on the cross. See, people may hate you for one reason or another, but God loves you. He so much believed in you that He had to give up His son to die for your sake (1 John 4:9-10). ...

HERITAGE OF VICTORY

HERITAGE OF VICTORY

1 John 5:1-12
Devotional:- “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world- our faith” (V. 4) NKJV

There are always two major ways to achieve victory. It is either you have it by heritage or by merit. To merit something is to build up for it and attain it. The one that is stronger and greater is the one that is inherited. That is why you find some family lineages successful in a particular area. It is the children born in the palace to the king that turned to be the king in the future. This is because the Royal Seed is in them (Daniel 1:3)

You must know that you come from the lineage of the great God through Christ Jesus. God is known to be the strongest being, He is called the Almighty. He has put in you the nature of victory (Gen 1:27). This is by creating you in His very nature and likeness. So, you are from the lineage of the strong. Though sin took this away through the first Adam but Christ came to restore it. That is why you have to be born of God.

The scripture tells us that whatever is born of God is born for victory (1 John 5:4). Please understand this from now on. All that you have to do is to believe the word of God that says you are a victor. This strength can only flow through you by your faith. That is why I know that your current situation will soon change for good. You will look for it and won’t find it again. You are a victor by inheritance. Peace.

PRAYER: Lord, I return to my heritage of strength and take my place in victory in Jesus' name.
