THE PAST

THE PAST Isaiah 43:8-21 Devotional:- “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old.” (v.18) NKJV God, who gives us a memory, want us to use our past experiences to help us make quality decisions in the future, but the past is always the enemy of the future for many. If you don’t know how to manage your memory system of the past, it is capable of standing against your success in the future. As emotional beings, we are sometimes faced with the challenges of memories of our past experiences, our errors and failures. You will observe that at every point of decision-making to progress, the enemy will bring back to your memory the past experiences of your failure. This is just to bring fear to your heart and make you doubt the possibility of your success, so you could lose your joy. The scripture we read today instructs us to let go of the past. DISCOURAGEMENT

DISCOURAGEMENT

1 Samuel 30:1-6
Devotional:- “Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God.” (v.6) NKJV

As we pursue our desire on earth, we are bound to face some challenging situations, and this should not scare you. This is because whenever you want to take a positive step, you need to know that you are taking action. And every action commands a reaction. Your steps to progress are inadvertently weakening some forces. So your action must always expect a reaction.

David and his team went out to be engaged in battle, but while they were away, the enemy had organized a group of raiders to invade their territory. So the raiders came and took all their belongings and burned their city. This brought so much discouragement to David and his team; men who were valiant in battle began to weep. Thank God, David quickly delivered himself from this trap.

Friend, it is a great trap when you allow discouragement. Men always think they have enough good reasons to be discouraged. We often get discouraged by feeling that God has failed or disappointed us. A discouraged person feels God is not good enough this time. But contrary to what we think, God can’t bring us into discouragement. It is the devil's trick to weaken your faith for victory. Please refuse it, learn the act of self-encouragement. Arise and find out the will of God and move forward. Your enemies will surely fail. Peace.

Prayer: Lord, help me to always be courageous.

“DISCOURAGEMENT REDUCES MAN TO A VEGETABLE. WATCH OUT!”
