PURPOSE OF LOVE

PURPOSE OF LOVE Romans 5:6-11 Devotional:- “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us..” (V. 8). NKJV Sometimes we make such a mistake as loving only our lovers. We do not often think that by this we fulfill the Law of Moses and not the law of grace, loving only those who love us and probably hating those who hate us. But this is not true love. If you understand the purpose of love, you will know that love is not needed when everyone is perfect, but most needed because we are not. The scripture we read today demonstrates one of the greatest acts of God’s love to us. And this is a revelation of God’s love to you. Even though you commit sin and He hates sin, yet He loves you. It is for your sake that He sent Jesus, His only son, to die on the cross. See, people may hate you for one reason or another, but God loves you. He so much believed in you that He had to give up His son to die for your sake (1 John 4:9-10). ...

FOR YOUR ADVANTAGE

FOR YOUR ADVANTAGE

Isaiah 60:1-8
Devotional:- “For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you” (v. 2) NKJV

The scriptures we read today show that God’s word has already foreseen this generation's doom. In other words, the current shaking is from the Lord. It is part of His agenda for the end times (2 Timothy 3:1). This shaking is actually necessary to shake ungodliness and people’s hope in material things and money, which have become the gods of many.

I would like you to see that, as much as these shakings are programmed by God, they are also for your rising and glory. Our devotional verse shows us that darkness will cover the earth. Also, in the middle of the verse comes a conjunction ‘but…’ This simply shows us that some people shall be exempted, as it happened to the children of Israel in Egypt (Exodus 8:23).

God’s word says, though darkness shall cover the earth, but God shall arise over you. This darkness is confusion and a lack of understanding of what to do. But the light of God will lighten your way. Since darkness is what brings out the glory of light, the darkness is therefore to your advantage. That is the reason you and I should always connect with he light of God through the word of God (Psalm 119:130). Remember, the word of God says you will stand out (Matthew 5:14-16). While the people in confusion are selling their properties, you will receive grace to buy. While they are quitting, you will be getting established and taking over in Jesus' name. Peace.

PRAYER: Lord, let the light of your word make me stand out for your glory.

“LIGHT ALWAYS TAKES ADVANTAGE OF DARKNESS TO SHINE.”
