ASK

ASK Matthew 7:7-12  Devotional:- “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” (V.11) NKJV For us to be able to enjoy the love of God as believers, we must begin to ask God for our needs. It is the principle of God that you will only have what you ask (Matthew 7:7). If you don’t speak out to ask, you may not be given. This was the problem of the senior brother of the prodigal son (Luke 15:29-32). Everything is for Him, but he had never asked for any. But the younger brother knew how to ask You must also learn how to ask. This is because you will only enjoy what you asked for. We therefore need to learn how to ask. The word ‘ask’ is not the same as beg or loan. The word asks suggests confidence and courage. It means to demand for what you are due for. It means to ask for your rights and your entitlements in God (Galatians 3:13-14). The bible is a book of covenant ...

BOLDNESS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

BOLDNESS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

Proverbs 28:1-7
Devotional:- The wicked flee when no one pursues, But the righteous are bold as a lion” (V.1) NKJV

No atom of weakness can overcome the devil. Unrighteousness is his attitude, so unrighteousness cannot confront him (1 John 3:8). You must realize that we are not fighting against flesh and blood but against forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). That is why you cannot afford to be weak. Always remember that our fight is a fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12). Christ has defeated the devil on the cross (Colossians 2:15). We have been given the victory of Christ because Jesus is in us by His Spirit that is in us (1 John 4:4). Christians who toil with sin will soon face disgrace; so, Beware! One of the strengths you need to put on for victory as a Christian is the boldness of righteousness. God’s words call it the breastplate of righteousness (Ephesians 6:14). This is a strange level of confidence; the scripture says it commands boldness like that of a lion.

The boldness of righteousness is in two dimensions. The first is a product of faith in God’s word that claims the righteousness which is given to us by God through Jesus Christ. This is not by your own making. God’s words say it is not of work but faith (Romans 3:21-22, 2 Corinthians 5:20). No man can be so right with God, you must always put on this righteousness by faith, and then you are qualified. This righteousness is of Christ who dwells in you. So, whenever God sees you, He sees the righteous Spirit (the Holy Spirit) in you. The second is obedience to the word of God. When you obey God’s commandment you are entitled to God’s covenant reward (Deuteronomy 28:1).

As a child of God, this righteousness gives you strange boldness that no devil can wait for. Arise in this light and be courageous to win.

PRAYER: LORD, HELP ME TO ALWAYS PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.
