ASK

ASK Matthew 7:7-12  Devotional:- “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” (V.11) NKJV For us to be able to enjoy the love of God as believers, we must begin to ask God for our needs. It is the principle of God that you will only have what you ask (Matthew 7:7). If you don’t speak out to ask, you may not be given. This was the problem of the senior brother of the prodigal son (Luke 15:29-32). Everything is for Him, but he had never asked for any. But the younger brother knew how to ask You must also learn how to ask. This is because you will only enjoy what you asked for. We therefore need to learn how to ask. The word ‘ask’ is not the same as beg or loan. The word asks suggests confidence and courage. It means to demand for what you are due for. It means to ask for your rights and your entitlements in God (Galatians 3:13-14). The bible is a book of covenant ...

CONSCIENCE

CONSCIENCE

II Samuel 24:2-10
Devotional:- “David was conscience-stricken after he had counted the fighting men, and he said to the LORD, “I have sinned greatly in what I have done. Now, LORD, I beg you, take away the guilt of your servant. I have done a very foolish thing” (V. 10) NIV

God has given every human a conscience. This is a part of your mind that tells you whether what you are doing is right or wrong. Conscience can have a positive effect and can also have a negative effect. Some people want to avoid condemnation in their hearts and so destroy their conscience. The positive effect is very good, it keeps us away from evil. God put it there to help us flee from evil and love one another. It helps us to fear the Lord.

In our scripture today, David did what God had not instructed him to do and his conscience was affected. Some people also go about with a guilty conscience today. There are some sins some people have committed against God, their spouse, family friends, or neighbors, and their conscience held them for long. This could make someone kill him/herself (Mathew 27:3-5). You need to know that as a New Testament believer the Holy Spirit now dwells in you (1 Corinthians 3:16). As long as you keep obeying the Holy Spirit, you can no longer be condemned (Romans 8:1).

To overcome this, you need to repent of such deeds genuinely. Plead the blood of Jesus upon your mind by faith, and your heart will be cleansed (Hebrews 9:13-14), No matter your sin, God will forgive you if you genuinely repent and turn away from such sin (1 John 1:7-9). Then you will be free and you need to begin to allow God’s word in your heart. It is the water of life. It has the power to clean your heart and set you free from a guilty conscience (John 15:3). You are free from now in Jesus name. accept the righteousness of God by faith (Romans 3:22). The peace of God shall flood your heart from now and you shall be free.

PRAYER: LORD, GRANT ME GRACE FOR PURE CONSCIENCE.

“A CLEAN CONSCIENCE IS THE HEALTH OF THE SOUL”
