HOW REAL SERVANTS ACT

HOW REAL SERVANTS ACT Mark 10:35-45 Devotional:- “Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant” (V. 43).   The world defines greatness in terms of power, possessions, prestige and position but God determined your greatness by how many people you serve. This is quite contrary to the world view. Jesus called Himself servant and to be like Him is to be a servant. That is why it is so important to have a servant’s heart. God often test our heart by asking us to serve even outside our shape or area of interest. Your priority area of service should be in your area of shape, but God could demand for your service wherever needed. Looking at how a servant act is important because one could serve in a church for years and not be a real servant. Real servants make themselves available to serve. If you only serve when it is convenient, then you are not a good servant (2 Timothy 2:4). Real servants pay attention to needs, always lo...

IDENTIFY YOUR PURPOSE

IDENTIFY YOUR PURPOSE

Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:1-7
Devotional:-“And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules” (v. 5) NKJV

A major factor hindering many people from becoming successful in the black race is the inability to live in the purpose of life. God has made all things to fall in place for man when he lives in his purpose (Matthew 6:33). To be able to live in the purpose of God for our lives, we have to discover that purpose and then give ourselves to it. A major hindrance to the discovering of the purpose of men is man not thinking of the need for the purpose. By so, man live for the wrong purpose which is material. These are the things that are already provided for us.

As much as money and material things are important for our living on earth, they are not the reason we are here. So, we are to work towards them at our capacity and be thankful. Discovery of purpose will help us to set our priority right. It will give us the right goal and focus. If focus is wrong, people will miss their success. Our purpose is known by our maker. And the Bible is our guide.

In the scripture, we discover that the purposes of man are: to aim at bringing glory to God through all that we are doing, to love others and be part of His family, to grow our spirit and soul to be like Him, to live and bless others and to bring others to the saving grace of Christ (Matthew 22:37-40; 28:19-20). When a man understands these, his success will be rightly defined. His focus will be righteous and his life will be blessed by the Lord. Peace.

PRAYER: Lord, give me good understanding of my purpose on earth.

“KNOWING YOUR PURPOSE MAKES YOU FOCUS ON WHAT HEAVEN WILL BACK UP FOR YOUR SUCCESS ON EARTH”
