HOW REAL SERVANTS ACT

HOW REAL SERVANTS ACT Mark 10:35-45 Devotional:- “Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant” (V. 43).   The world defines greatness in terms of power, possessions, prestige and position but God determined your greatness by how many people you serve. This is quite contrary to the world view. Jesus called Himself servant and to be like Him is to be a servant. That is why it is so important to have a servant’s heart. God often test our heart by asking us to serve even outside our shape or area of interest. Your priority area of service should be in your area of shape, but God could demand for your service wherever needed. Looking at how a servant act is important because one could serve in a church for years and not be a real servant. Real servants make themselves available to serve. If you only serve when it is convenient, then you are not a good servant (2 Timothy 2:4). Real servants pay attention to needs, always lo...

UNDERSTANDING

UNDERSTANDING

1 Peter 3:1-12
Devotional:- “Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding. Giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered” (V. 7)

Here is a great need to be of understanding if relationship will not be like a trap. To live together with understanding is to tolerate each other with maturity. This is to understand that we are people raised from different background, yet, brought together by divine arrangement. It is therefore very important that we wisely handle our relationship with understanding.

The Bible commands us to dwell with each other with understanding. This is by honouring each other and realizing our different weaknesses. The Bible instructs us to see each other as heirs together of the grace of life; so that our prayer may not be hindered. This is because, if understanding is not brought into our relationship, our differences will always cause misunderstanding.

To love with understanding demands that we come to realize that we cannot change one another overnight (Luke 21:19). It demands that we correct one another in love (Ephesians 4:2). It demands that we prayerfully correct one another till our great change becomes visible (Proverbs 21:1). Then, our relationship will keep changing for good. Peace.

PRAYER: Lord, give me an understanding heart to grow my relationship.

“WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING, TWO WILL NOT BE ABLE TO WORK TOGETHER”
