SETBACK Genesis 39:10-21 Devotional:- “Then Joseph's master took him and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were confined. And he was there in the prison” (v.20) NKJV Most people do not yet understand that what we call a setback, a lot of time is a set-up to set us to our top. Setback, as viewed by people, is demotion, but it is rather an opportunity to retreat and re-fire for greater victory. When the purpose of a thing is not known, men are bound to abuse it. Today, we read about Joseph, who was thanking God for being promoted from a slave to a house overseer. He always tried to put his best into his assignment, and by this, he always had joy. At this time, the enemy wanted to damage his testimony by the temptation of sin, but he stood his ground for God (2 Timothy 2:22). But then he faced something like a demotion to prison. This looks like an act of wickedness from God that he was trying to please, but Joseph knew that there is a price for righteo...

CORRECTION

CORRECTION

Ephesians 4:1-6
Devotional:- “with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love” (V. 2)

As human being, we grow into maturity when we make changes from our wrong attitude to the right one. For change to take place, there is a need for us to be corrected in such area of change. If we are going to be corrected, God is going to use men to do so and we are also to be used to correct others. Since no correction; no change: then, we cannot avoid been corrected by people around us. If our relationship will grow then, the approach to correction must be very mature.

The word of God teaches us to correct each other with love. This is correcting each other with understanding. Not reacting but resolving individual confusion with understanding. Knowing full well that if a mature person behaves wrongly, it is because they do not understand what makes them err. Therefore, we should not take correction as accusation but explanation to bring them to understand. By so doing, we can win them to the side of wisdom.

By reacting to people, we confront them without considering them. That way, we create reaction for further reaction and they will not be able to learn. It takes humility to genuinely correct and people will take it like that. Many times, we need to pray for God to touch them before we do (Proverbs 2 1:1). Peace.

PRAYER: Lord, teach me the skill of good correction.
