ACKNOWLEDGING HIM

ACKNOWLEDGING HIM Proverbs 3:1-8  Devotional:- “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (v.6) KJV. To be able to enjoy God’s loving kindness, all of us must learn to always acknowledge God in all our decision-making. This simply means that we recognise Him as our owner and the one who is qualified to instruct us on where to turn. When we gave our lives to Christ, we all confessed Jesus as our Lord. This means we acknowledge Him as the one who has the final decision over our lives. But we often forget to carry Him along in making decisions that will, in the end, have a great adverse effect on our lives. If we are to enjoy the love and the goodness of the Lord, we must learn to acknowledge Him. And this is by patiently asking Him for His instructions for us. The truth is that He will always guide us. He said, “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye” (Psalms 32:8). The truth is that you are gu...

BACKGROUND

BACKGROUND

Proverbs 22:1-6
Devotional:- “Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it” (V. 6)

Everyone grows up from a background. Our background is the nature and the behavioral attitude of people we grew up with. Our background is the lifestyle of our parents and our relations. This goes a long way to affect our beliefs and our concepts of life. It registers in our mind permanently as what we belief that life should look like. Our background often becomes so difficult to change because they are what we are introduced to in our early learning years.

The background nature of Joseph kept reflecting even in Egypt. Our background becomes what other people in relationship will have to manage to have a good relationship. The background flow out in life with us and that is why people say charity begins at home. Some people’s background makes them traders, others partying, others well disciplined, some academics etc. Some people have such terrible background that often stands against their progress in life. Faulty background could stand as self-limiting factor in life.

The moment you notice a background behavior is negatively affecting your life, please be willing to change. It is all about forming contrary habits. This is possible by forming an opposite habit and practicing them repeatedly for 21 days over. Whoever desires to change a man’s background should be patience to explain with understanding about the fault in the background. It will gradually reveal to us a better concept of life. That is when people will agree to change their habit for a better relationship. Peace.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to be able to change for better.
