HOW REAL SERVANTS ACT

HOW REAL SERVANTS ACT Mark 10:35-45 Devotional:- “Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant” (V. 43).   The world defines greatness in terms of power, possessions, prestige and position but God determined your greatness by how many people you serve. This is quite contrary to the world view. Jesus called Himself servant and to be like Him is to be a servant. That is why it is so important to have a servant’s heart. God often test our heart by asking us to serve even outside our shape or area of interest. Your priority area of service should be in your area of shape, but God could demand for your service wherever needed. Looking at how a servant act is important because one could serve in a church for years and not be a real servant. Real servants make themselves available to serve. If you only serve when it is convenient, then you are not a good servant (2 Timothy 2:4). Real servants pay attention to needs, always lo...

TEMPERAMENT

TEMPERAMENT

Genesis 25:19-28
Devotional:- “So the boys grew. And Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field; but Jacob was a mild man, dwelling in tents” (V. 27)

Everyone picks his temperamental nature from the parents. This is therefore, being passed to us through the blood. Since it is in our blood, it becomes our permanent nature. Temperamental nature is therefore one of the major factors to work on to make two to become one. Each temperamental nature has advantages and disadvantages. God consciously allow us to have these differences to create varieties in our world. If all of us behave the same way, the whole world will be boring.

One of these natures is choleric. These are people who always want to impose their own ideas on others. There is also melancholy. These are people who love to take care of detailed issues; they are not easily fed up with organizing and arrangement. They love orderliness. There are also sanguine. These are extroverts. So, they love to talk and be humorous. They think and talk at the same time. Too much of planning is a burden to them. There is also phlegmatic nature. These are Introvert people. They keep to themselves more than others. They think more than talking.

Each of us has a little from our father and a little from our mother. This makes each one to have one major and one or more as minor. To manage these in relationships demands good study of each temperament. There is need for compromise with each other accepting people as they are and helping them to overcome their weaknesses gradually. Peace.

Prayer: Lord, help me to grow above my weaknesses.

“YOUR NATURE IS YOU, ONLY CHALLENGING EXPERIENCES CAN DEVELOP IT”.
